New Doctor

So Jim (and I) met with his new doctor yesterday and the verdict is...I really liked him! His name is Dr. Flora (Daniel...not to be confused with his older brother Doug Flora who's also an oncologist but now in administration as he heads the new Cancer Center being built at St. E's). Anyway, Jim's doctor and why I liked him: He's young, he's excited about what he's doing, he's completely focused on melanoma (only sees melanoma patients) and he knew a LOT about Jim's history. He had obviously read his file and understood the details and history of what we'd been through. He sat with us for about an hour talking about everything and it allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief. Jim will see him again just after the holidays (January 7th...not sure I'll be able to go to that appointment...IEP and day after we start back...if he's "healthy" I won't worry about it) and then have another PET scan 4 weeks after that. That will be after Jim's been on his new meds for about 8 weeks or so...fingers crossed.

Yesterday was a good day. I managed to get some laundry done, exercise, and run some errands before I had to head to St. E's. My IEP meeting was also good and that's my last one before next year so now I can focus on the rest of this week and exams. YAY!

It's going to be frigid today! Jim's already been instructed to have a fire set to light for me this afternoon.

And that's about all I've got to talk about. I have some papers to correct at school and my IEP paperwork to complete so I'd best get a move on. Happy Wednesday! Later!
