I Can Do It!

Three weeks...that's all I need to get through to take me to Winter Break and then Punta Cana! And really, it's just the next two weeks and then exam week which is nothing and a work day at the end of all that. I have taken a day off on the 10th for Jim's new doctor's appointment as well. I can definitely do this! Now, the big issue with the next couple weeks is what I'm doing in language arts class. Today we'll finish up the final episode of And Then There Were None and we'll do a compare/contrast thing with the book and movies but beyond who knows. The problem is whatever I do will be what I test the kid on so it can't be anything too involved. Maybe we'll just do a bunch of writing and their semester exam will be a writing piece that they have to edit. We'll see. I hate teaching writing! Kids can't write. They can barely speak correctly. And their spelling...don't even get me started. Ugh! Dread!

So it was a good week. I won't bore you with everything but the best part of it all was how much family time we had. There were lots of laughs and fun but it seemed to go by in a whirlwind. Then Saturday hit and it all just slowed down! Saturday and Sunday were perfect for Jim and me because we were able to just hang together, relax and do what we wanted. Saturday night we got to spend with Jim's cousins. We hadn't seen them in a couple years! I finally got my elliptical fixed and got back on that horse. Scout and I took a massively long walk yesterday which left him tuckered for the rest of the day. And then I got to watch football (a Bengals win! First of the season), sit by the tree with a roaring fire and count the hours until I could go snuggle in bed! A perfect week! Here are the highlights:

  • Silver Spring House dinner
  • Thanksgiving dinner (I think it tops all dinners from past years)
  • Visit to Trip and Susan's new house (beautiful)
  • Fart walks!
  • Soup extravaganza at my house (thank you Maggie for making the corn chowder)
  • Having Mom and Richard for Thanksgiving
  • My boys were so good!
This week should be pretty normal. Jim's already off this morning...had to be downtown early which means the boys have to go in their cages extra early (I hate that) but Jim will be home early so it's okay. They're still recovering from the weekend too. I have an IEP meeting Wednesday but other than that, things should be easy.

And that's all I've got. I'd best mosey. Happy Monday! Later!
