So of course when I got home from school yesterday, my new computer wasn't here. And I waited and waited and watched the front door and kept checking the front stoop and nothing! I checked the tracking and saw that FedEx had had it on their truck since 8:19 AM and I thought, "Someone stole my computer"!!! (Although I knew it hadn't been recorded as "delivered" yet...just paranoid.) So I'm getting ready to sit down for dinner and of course that's when the damn thing arrives. So I had to put it aside to eat (never ate so fast) before I could crack the box open and power this baby up.
It is so sleek and lovely. Talk about FAST!!! Loving it but of course I didn't have the time with it that I should have so I think I'll actually bring home work this weekend and test her out! I have an IEP on Thursday coming and since I'm heading north on Tuesday and not in school on Wednesday, it's probably a good idea. That and the fact that I need to get my shit together for my evaluation/observation. Good too that the neighbors are pretty much out of town all weekend so I won't be influenced by them to "F" work and have fun.
I forgot to set the alarm last night. I needn't worry, however, because Boo got up (only 7 minutes beyond normal time) to yawn loudly and announce he was hungry. Good boy! Now, lets hope he doesn't do that tomorrow...Saturday.
So I got a text yesterday from Maggie saying that my mom was in the hospital. She went into Afib (irregular heartbeat) and so they were regulating and running tests. Apparently (according to her blog), she got up feeling "scrappy". HAHA! (Side note: My mom has a blog and she doesn't always proof read!) She spent the night but she's feeling better and hopefully she'll be out soon. I'm just hoping that these symptoms she's been having will be understood and finally dealt with. It's truly been a long time of this "not quite right" shit and it's time for answers!
And that's about all I have. I don't need to be at school until 7:30 but I'll go in now because I want to get some stuff done before our in-service stuff starts. First and 2nd sessions (morning): a suicide awareness lecture and then my afternoon I'll be learning about students dealing with trauma and how it affects every part of their lives. I've heard this one is REALLY good and worthwhile so I look forward to hearing what they have to say. I probably won't get out of school until 3:00 but Jim has an easy day today and will be home early.
Happy Friday! Later!
