Once Upon A Time There Was An Engineer

As I've mentioned before, I often wake up with random songs in my head. Well, today, I woke up with Choo Choo Charlie (A Good & Plenty ad song apparently). This was something I heard on Mike and Molly about a week ago and now I can't get it out of my head. The funny thing was, I was singing it in the kitchen as I was making breakfast and about 10 minutes later, Jim, in the family room, started singing it.  Hee hee. My kids at school (and Maggie) do that to me all the time. I'm such an easy target...you start singing a song and 2 minutes later, I'll start it up and keep it going for the rest of the day. Actually - it's a bit annoying.

So yesterday's dermatology appointment went well. I saw the nurse practitioner and she gave me a topical steroid lotion to deal with the itchy and dry crap on my face. She also recommended two different cleansers - one of which I had just switched to when this all started (Cetaphil). I really like it...it's very gentle. Can I just say - I hate my skin?! I mean, I've always been prone to breakouts but I'd hoped that at 44, it would finally clear up.  Guess that's not going to happen. I just seem to take on new skin disorders. Oh well - what are you going to do? I think in another life, I must have been drop dead gorgeous but a total bitch.  Then, in this life, God decided to teach me a lesson so he made me drop dead gorgeous with crappy skin but sweet as pie. Right? I didn't just hear a world full of laughter, did I!? HEY!!!

Okay so today I'll head to the grocery (forgot some things yesterday) and then come home, help Jim clean and wait for football to start. I'm sure Jim and I will do some Mario racing and Jeopardy playing on the Wii. Other than that - we'll hunker down, cuddle with Sami and hang.
