Well last week was actually a 2 1/2 day week but whatever. And BONUS! Next week is a four day week as well. January doesn't suck!
So what did I do yesterday on my unexpected day off? I worked from about 9:30 until 2:30 with a little break for lunch and the pharmacy. I managed to get about 1/2 my IEP progress reports done; checked schedules; sent IEPs to teachers; emailed a couple parents and then did a bunch of piddly work on student grade trackers. Very productive and something I would never have finished in one day at school. Woot!
Pharmacy: I was picking up a topical steroid for my leprosy (or whatever this crap on my face is...maybe just eczema but if my chin falls off...). The nurse practitioner gave me a coupon ($0 deductible) for the cream and told me if it didn't work and ended up costing $600 dollars then don't buy it (gee, thanks for the directive). So it worked but when I saw what the original price was I nearly shipped my pants! It wasn't $600 but it was nearly $300! WH-WH-WHAT!? Are there flecks of gold in that shit!? And to tell the truth, I've been using it since Friday (she gave me a sample) and it's not that whoop-di-woop. My GOD these pharmaceutical companies are just ridiculous!
Lets see - so, today should be a bit of a shit show. I still have a ton of shit to do at work with the new semester but I also have a new student coming in and of course his schedule was done before it was decided he would be on my caseload so that has to be fixed (so annoying). Then I need to figure out the timeline for "adopting" (or not) his IEP, however, because they have to do testing on him, I'm not sure if I can even do that until the testing is complete. I'm supposed to start a new novel in class today but, of course, I forgot to go to Half Price to get more and many of the ones I've got are falling apart. (I'll probably do that tomorrow since I need to stay at school for a 4:00 meeting for the union reps). Then, one of the other sped teachers is hoping to use our room for her study hall when Lisa and I have our plan period but of course she's got 13 kids and we don't have the room for that. I'm sure there's an empty room in the building SOMEWHERE. But all of this is no biggie...just a hassle.
Okay so I guess that's all I've got. Days like yesterday sure do remind me that I need to play and win the lottery.
Oh, and WOOT WOOT for all the Buckeyes out there. O-H!!!
K - I'm out. Gotta go wake up Jim for his training. Later!
