The Good The Bad The Prednisone

I took my final dose of prednisone yesterday evening and for the most part I really do hate steroids (the sweats, the bloating, the racing heart when I'm trying to sleep), however, I will miss the energy I've had these last few days. I will especially miss the fact that all my aches and pains have been absent. Seriously. No hip issues, no knee tweaks, my shoulders feel good. It's been pretty awesome. I walked Scout 4 miles yesterday and could have gone another 4...I didn't but I could have. Oh, and my eyes have finally settled down. Knock on wood!

The weekend was good especially since I ended up having to call in on Friday. I was all ready, I'd posted, gotten ready and was in my car ready to head to the store for donuts and bananas when I hit the garage door opener to head out and found I was stuck. The spring on our garage door busted and there was no getting my car out. Neither Jim nor I together could get it open. Ugh! Oh well. It allowed me to get a TON of shit done on Friday all before lunch. I cleaned the house top to bottom, walked both dogs, did ALL the laundry, made dinner...it was awesome. The garage is fixed ($372 later) and hopefully nothing else will break in the house but I won't hold my breath.

Jim and I headed, finally, to Hoppin' Vines on Saturday after Jim got home from work (he had to go in for a couple hours) and then Skyline for lunch. We hung out together and watched TV, played some Rummikub and enjoyed a fire after dinner. Sunday was our typical: Shooters, home, cards with Doug and Lauren and then I made a Thai Fish Curry. Jim was not excited about this meal but it was delicious as I knew it would be. I don't know why he gets so funny when we have fish. I mean, it's always delicious. I don't make him eat salmon (we both hate it); it's always a light fish or shrimp. I think his mom used to make gross fish dishes when he was a kid and ruined him. Oh well.

Dinner tonight will be the leftover meat loaf from Saturday. I know Jim won't take it for lunch nor will I (too heavy for lunch) and I don't want it to go to waste.

The week should be pretty easy this week. I think I have a couple meetings can't remember. It's the last week before Spring Break! This time next week I hope I'm still in bed. Woot.

K - best mosey. I did get donuts and juice for the kids so they'll be happy this morning. Hopefully that will keep them happy and motivated as we finish out this week. Happy Monday! Later!
