Narrowly Averted

Storms hit the area yesterday but north of where I live. There was, most likely, a tornado that touched down in the neighboring county but thankfully my county was spared. When I left from school, Armageddon was bearing down and there were a couple times I could barely see to drive but thankfully I was on the final road to my home. Once in the house, the skies suddenly cleared and within the hour I was able to get Scout out for his walk. It did sprinkle on us a bit but a little rain never hurt anyone. It was pretty windy and I got a little nervous walking among the trees a couple times but all was well. Phew! 

(BTW - don't let the picture fool you...I refrained from drink yesterday even with the weather! Pat pat pat!) 

My little Scoutie has recently been pulling his I-don't-feel-like-eating routine which he knows drives his Mama nuts. However, I did just manage to get him to have his breakfast! Finally. And now he's rubbing his face all over the furniture and now he's rolling on the carpet. He's a kook. How funny if people did that? After eating we get up from the table and just start wiping our faces on anything at face level and then dropping down to roll around on the ground. Dogs are silly! 

The Murdaugh trial: The defense wrapped yesterday and now the state will call rebuttal witnesses. The prosecutor said he had 4-5 people to call, one of which could be lengthy. I would imagine they'll call someone up to reiterate the timeline and the fact that Alex was the only possibly person to have committed the crime. The defense called an expert yesterday who alluded to/specifically said the murders could have been done by two people. The reasoning is stupid: Two weapons were used. However, when you think about the fact that there were weapons all over the place at the home and on the grounds, one person makes sense. Maggie believes (I agree) they'll call someone to dispute that. Anyway (and I'm sure no one really cares but me and Maggie) it looks like the closing arguments will happen Thursday and Friday and then the case will go to the jury. We'll see. I'm looking forward to this being over. And regardless of if he's found guilty (how could anyone think otherwise) he won't be getting out of jail anytime soon. 

Dinner tonight: I think I'll do a WW chicken parmesan with a salad. I haven't made that in a while and it's a fave. 

Slept like a baby last night but I dreamt a ton and woke up several times. I managed to get back to sleep though. 

Jim is talking to me. Why does he talk to me in the morning? He knows I don't listen. First he told me that Yosemite Valley has anywhere from 4 - 7 feet of snow covering it. He then said that Jake Tapper is interviewing Bill Maher tonight. I guess I was listening. But I still don't care. 

Okay - that's all I've got. Wow...I finished my post in record time. Maybe I'll go up and cuddle with my boys for a bit. K - happy Tuesday! Later!
