Excitement

I'm pretty excited for a number of reasons. 

1. I'm reading a good book. It's called The Bodyguard by Katherine Center. It's kind of a rom-com but don't let that deter you (not sure why that would...who doesn't love a rom-com?)  The writing is great and it's a quick fun read. 
2. It's FRIDAY!!! So excited. Why do short weeks always seem long? Probably because,
3. I stood my ground this week (Tuesday - Thursday) and didn't drink! I know a lot of you are probably judging me right now thinking, You're celebrating three days? Maybe you have a problem! And in a way you are correct. I don't think I have a drinking problem but it's certainly a vice. I like it so much but it's not a crutch. I don't drink to get drunk. I don't drink to the point of drunk or even buzzed, for the most part. I just like a drink while I'm getting dinner ready during the week. It usually only ends up being 1 or 2 but it's so enjoyable. The problem is, when I'm trying to shed some pounds, drinking doesn't help and really hurts with all the sugar. So, yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself for laying off, if only for three days. I'll try to continue this trend during the week but you know what? I'm not going to beat myself up about it. (Until I go to bed and lay there thinking about how weak I am and hating myself. I mean, who are we kidding? I haven't changed my personality...or gotten therapy for my self loathing!) 

BTW - Boo woke up at 4AM again this morning and tried to get Jimmy out of bed. When he said, "Uh uh!" he came over to me. I did the same and he sighed loudly but went back to his bed. Once again, he and Scout played so hard yesterday. He's a turkey! 

Man oh man! The Murdaugh trial! Yesterday was a fucking car wreck that I just couldn't look away from. Alex Murdaugh actually took the stand against his lawyers wishes. If I thought before he was a narcissist, yesterdays testimony cemented those beliefs. He talked for hours while the defense questioned him about what a great relationship he had with his wife and son. You know, the ones he murdered. It was nuts. And then the prosecutor started in on him. He started his questioning around 3:30 and went until about 5:30 when they recessed for the day. He's only getting started and I feel like Creighton Waters (the lead prosecutor) is going to put the nail in the coffin today. I'll be watching as it's "movie day" in my classes. 

Weekend plans: Absolutely no plans and I'm so excited. We're having leftovers tonight and then Saturday I'm sure we'll head out for some lunch and drinks. Sunday will, I'm sure, include a trip to Shooters. Beyond that, I'm chillin' with my pups.
