Jim had a quick beer with Doug, walked Boo and then we ate dinner at just about 6:15. Once that was all cleaned up, I went up to put clean laundry away. I did notice at this point that I felt overly full and I hadn't eaten that much. Oh well...I continued and when I finished, I went down and told Jim I was going to head up to finish watching a show (more on that) and lay in bed with the boys.
I finished watching my show, did a crossword and then Jim came up and climbed into bed. It was 8:00 at this point. Within 5 minutes, I put my iPad down and snuggled in to sleep. Less than an hour later, I was in hell.
Around 9:00 I realized I was having belly issues so I got up. It wasn't good. It felt like when I last ate quinoa. Ugh! I barfed, I did other things, I shivered, I sweat, tears streamed down my face (this is what happens when I barf) and by 9:45, I was exhausted and empty. I was finally able to lay in bed, on my back, hands folded under my chin trying not to move in order to steady myself. I must've fallen asleep because the next thing I knew it was 1:30. I fell back to sleep until about 4:12, three minutes before my alarm was to go off. I thought about changing my alarm to sleep in a bit but decided to get up to see how I felt.
You'll be happy to know that all is well. I feel perfectly normal again. However, I decided to forego my typical Friday morning routine (elliptical and GBBO) to eat breakfast instead. I think my body needs a break after last night's debacle and I needed a little sustenance. I'll exercise later if I feel like it.
I have no idea what happened. Jim ate the same thing I did and didn't have any issues. I'm kind of afraid to eat lunch today (I've packed leftovers from last night) but I'm a risk taker and I think it was just a fluke...maybe something I ate from earlier in the day. Who knows?
So YAY! It's Friday. I just found out that Jim doesn't have to go to Columbus today! Woot! He'll be working up the road in Kenwood! Hot DAMN!
The plans for the weekend are to chill and hang with no real plans on the agenda other than taking care of the backyard and heading to Shooters at some point. Oh, and Doug told Jim he and Lauren would be up for cards tonight. We'll see. Fridays are tough for me.
Oh, the new show I've discovered: Alaska Daily with Hilary Swank. It's about a reporter who goes to Alaska to uncover the strange and suspicious disappearances of indigenous women over a number of years. Apparently it's an ABC show but I was watching it on Hulu. Check it out...it's really good.
The story about the quote, "There's that tree.": On the way up to Columbus, just after you've passed the outlets, there a tree on the southbound side in the middle of a field standing about 10 feet from the highway all by itself. It really sticks out. About 15 years ago - it was when Maggie and Charlie had just moved to Ohio - Jim and I were heading up to see them (I think Cullen was with us too) and Jim said to me, "See that tree? It's been there forever." And so ever since then, every time we see the tree (if I'm alone, I text or call him) we say, "There's that tree." The other "funny" thing about this is after the wind storm about 10 years ago, part of the tree was damaged; half of it was blown off and I thought, "Well, that's that for that tree." But nope...it still stands and has continued to grow.
Should be an easy day at school. I'll be doing a little activity with the kids in ELA then introducing our new novel which we'll start Monday (Secret Life of Bees). In Science we'll finish watching Hocus Pocus and in history, we're watching LHOTP (Little House) - the episode where Charles heads off to help build the railroad after a hail storm destroys his wheat crop.
K - Happy Friday and happy weekend. Later. (Wow, I had a lot to say, huh?)
