Last night's dinner was really good - Vegan BBQ Lentil Sloppy Joes. I'm pretty sure I've made it before but it's been a while. When we finished dinner, I said to Jim, "That was really good considering it was meatless." And he said, "There wasn't meat in that?" Not that he cares to have meatless meals but he just didn't miss it at all.
Tonight we'll have leftovers. I was going to do leftovers last night because I was late getting home do to a meeting after school (more on that in a minute) but Jim didn't want leftovers. And he didn't want to go out. He offered to go pick something up but I threw him a bone since he's been having a tough time lately and just bit the bullet and cooked. And I'm glad I did.
The staff meeting yesterday was SO fucking annoying. The original invite (it was mandatory) said 2:30 - 2:50. And then of course they changed it to 3:10. And at 3:10 while people were still annoying me by asking questions and participating in my principal's stupid Theoretical Drill scenarios, I got up and got the f&%k out of there. So stupid. He was talking about some incident that happened where a kid, during lunch thought another kid had written a list of students he wanted to hurt at school. So he told his grandmother and the grandmother called the school and talked to the secretary but the secretary didn't get all the information and so it was the game of "what would you do"? I was like, Well, I wouldn't have answered the phone in the office when the grandmother called the school secretaries number so why are we playing this game?!" My principal kept talking about how if this happened, we should hunt down the lunchroom seating charts and I'm like Fool! I don't have access to that shit! If this shit happens on my watch I'm calling you, laying it in your lap, slapping my hands together and saying, I'm out! Why do people insist on wasting my time?!
Sorry...I just hate this group, team-building bullshit. It's just not my thang. Maybe it's me being an asshole but I'm just not into it and don't think people should be forced into those things.
And that's all I've got. Today should be an easy day...reading with my ELA classes and showing videos for history and science. I'm hoping my kids in GI don't have a hundred tests but it's a Friday and that's what these dumb teachers like to do.
K - Happy Friday. No real weekend plans. But next week? When Jim's drain is hopefully out? Well, I'm hoping we can actually do something but we'll see. K - later!
