Back To Work!!!

Jim still has his drain (will hopefully come out tomorrow) but he got a call from his boss yesterday asking if he could come in today to help finish up a job. Jim said yes and Muwee is thrilled!!! I'm so happy he's getting back out there into a routine and out of the house! I'm sure he'll struggle a bit at first getting back into the swing of things and he'll probably tire out easily but he'll rally quickly, I'm sure.

My IEP yesterday went well - I knew it would. There was one point that annoyed me, however: A "district rep" (she's the rep for students at the career center full time; my student is there part time) whom I've never met and didn't invite to the IEP and who didn't need to be there zoomed in and immediately started critiquing the IEP (not my part). She started talking about the physical therapists piece and saying this and that shouldn't be in the IEP blah blah blah. I said, "Um, maybe you can bring that up when the PT joins the meeting...you know, since she's not here to explain and hear your 'concerns'." Then I send a text to the school psyche who was zooming from the room next to mine and said, "Who the fuck is this asshole and why is she in my meeting!?"

I have another meeting today and though I'm not concerned about the IEP I am concerned about the parents. They are very contentious divorcees and consistently make little jabs to each other which is very uncomfortable for the rest of us. Add to that - the student isn't speaking to his mother and hasn't seen her in months, who knows what will happen when I tell him he has to join me for the meeting. He's such an asshole too...he calls his mom by her first name. I find that so ridiculous. He purposely does it out of disrespect and I'm sure there are things, dynamics I know nothing about but I hear what the parents say to and about each other in front of their kid and his attitude has everything to do with their shit. Come on parents! Quit dragging your kids into your problems and causing angst. Should be interesting.

In other news...I've got nothing. I'm making a chicken marsala pasta meal tonight...a Jim fave and I'm sure he'll want something yummy to finish out his first day back to work after over 2 months out.

And that's all I've got. Time to get a move on. Happy Wednesday! Later!
