Team Building Bullshit

Today is an in-service at school. The first two hours is meant to be some sort of team building shit that I want no part of. I don't really know what the eff we're doing but I'm telling you, if they want us to share shit and play stupid games, I'm going to be so annoyed. They've grouped us by alphabet and my group is pretty good (no one who annoys me or that I can't stand) so that's something. I'll have to keep my eyeballs in check, for sure.

Guess what? Jim finally got his drain out!!! I mean I'm so happy! He's so happy! And he immediately took advantage of his new found freedom by going outside and doing yard work. Plus he's back to work and things are finally looking up. He'll go back to the doc in 2 weeks for a follow up and hopefully all will continue to improve.

No real plans this weekend. We got a wood delivery the other day from our wood guy but he still needs to bring us a splitter. That will either happen this weekend or next. I'm hoping this weekend but you can't rush this guy because he marches to his own drummer. He shows up whenever the heck he wants so who knows how long the wood will lay there. It shouldn't take too long to split because we didn't get a huge load of wood, just a reasonable amount since we still have some from last year.

Dinner tonight will be either take out Thai or we'll go out. Jim said he wanted to go out but I have a feeling that when the time comes with the possible rain and storms moving in, we'll both want to bow out.

Have I mentioned the teacher at the high school who is in the hospital with Covid? He's really really sick, was in the ICU but has recently been moved to a different level of care. He's been vaccinated, was very adamant about mask wearing but is a cancer survivor and who knows if that's compromised his immune system. The sadder thing is that his daughter is a student at the high school (his wife teaches at another school in our district) and she's been bombarded with constant questions. I'm sure those asking her about her dad mean well but it's also been really hard for her because school has kind of been an escape from the reality and with people asking her questions about his well-being all the time, she's having an extra tough time. It's just so crazy how this stupid virus hits people so differently.

And that's all I've got. Time to get a move on. I have a nice 3-day weekend and I'm so happy to get to sleep in tomorrow (I've gotten up at 4 AM every day this week). K - happy Friday! Later!
