Almost There

Yesterday, Mom signed the papers to put her house on the market! I'm anxious for her to be up here so I know that she's 100 times as anxious but there is a light at the end of this long tunnel! The big things now are to get movers, find a place for her and make the move! It's going to take a group effort for sure but in the end, her peace of mind and close proximity to family will all be worth it. It certainly hasn't been an easy road but I hope that it's downhill from here on out. Fingers crossed that the sale and move goes smoothly. 

I have to stay at school a little later than usual today which is so fucking stupid! There's some sort of training and what I don't understand is why we have to stay after when we have 40 minutes at the beginning of our day when we are without students and have plenty of time to deal with meetings etc. We used to have meetings in the mornings (the year before Covid) so I'm not sure why we can't go back to that. My thinking is that the admin just wants to piss us off. 

Speaking of meetings, we had a department meeting yesterday - I think I mentioned it in my last post - to talk about several things but mainly to give reminders...about doing our job. In reality, the reminders were meant for one teacher and guess what? She was absent. So fucking ridiculous. This teacher is the WORST! She doesn't do her paperwork and has several times gone into a meeting without an IEP draft written and in fact, has had parents "sign" for permission when the document wasn't even complete. This is highly unethical! Highly illegal! She's even been called out for it twice by administrators but she knows and I know and the admins know that nothing will happen to her. I'm telling you...when I go through my evaluation this year, if I don't get "accomplished" I'm burning her house down! 

Dinner tonight will be Vegan BBQ Lentil Sloppy Joes with slaw and fries. I think I've made this before. Hopefully it will be good. 

Jim's having a really tough time with his drain. The site where it goes in is really sore and causing him lots of pain. It's nothing dangerous, just something that happens with time when a drain stays in for this length of time. Last night he couldn't sleep in bed because every time he moved, it tugged. He ended up sleeping in his recliner all night. He's going to call the office today and see if the doc will move the removal up from Monday to tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I mean, the vacuum is off and it's not draining anything. Ugh! Poor guy! 

And that's all I've got. Time to get to school. Should be an easy day...starting a new book in ELA and doing extra credit activities in science and history.
