Ready For Winter

It was a pretty productive Saturday though it didn't start out that way. As you may recall, the plan was for Glenn, our tree/wood guy, to drop the splitter off early so that we'd be able to crank out the splitting quickly and have the rest of the day. Well, at just after 7:00 Glenn called to say he'd had a rough night (don't know what that means) and was going to be a little later than he'd planned. I said that was fine and went about my morning (breakfast and walking dogs). When 10:00 rolled around and we still hadn't heard from him, I had Jim text. No answer. So around 11:00, I decided to go fill up the gas can and when I went out to tell Jim, he said Glenn was on his way. He got there around 11:30, I started splitting around noon and with Jim stacking we cranked it out in just about 2 hours. We had a mix of seasoned wood and newly cut wood so the new stuff will need seasoning but we'll be good for the winter I think. After that I decided to cut the front yard since we had/have a ton of rain. From there, I was spent and ready to chill. We had chili and grilled cheese for dinner.

Sunday we did our normal stuff: Breakfast, dog walking, Shooters and I made a pot roast for dinner (was so good...low and slow!). Jim drank WAYYYY too much and though he wasn't too terribly obnoxious I still get annoyed when he drinks like that. He just doesn't have the sense to stop drinking and of course now he's paying for it. He slept a lot of the night on the couch (passed out and I wasn't going to ruin my own sleep trying to get him up to bed) and then got up around 3:00 to get sick. Yep, he'd drunk that much. When I got up at 4 he was still downstairs and said he felt a lot better. But he couldn't find his glasses. He said he woke up on the couch and they were gone. I went searching, hoping Boo hadn't stolen them but they weren't under the bed or dining room table (Boo's favorite hiding places). I decided to check the garage and lo and behold, they were laying on Jim's work bench. Like I said, Dude was drunk! Needless to say, Jim's still lolling in bed.

Dinner tonight: Either mahi mahi fish and chips or maybe pork chops in the instant pot .Not sure...we'll see how I feel when I get home.

School should be easy today. The high school is off tomorrow for Jorge's funeral. The week should be pretty easy but I do have parent/teacher conferences on Thursday which sucks but I can hopefully get some work done.

And that's it. I need to get on the road and try to beat the rain that's about to start. Happy Monday. I'll probably post a little later than usual tomorrow since I don't have to get up as early. Later!
