Man oh man is it RAINY! I seriously doubt that my two babies will get their walk today. This is going to really bum them out. Yesterday, even having had a walk, Boo seemed blue. He kept coming up to me and smacking me to let him in my lap. He's look at me with his ears back and his eyes pitiful. Eventually he snapped out of it (a couple of biscuits helped) and he and Scout got some good play time in but today does not look promising.
I kept worrying overnight that the rain would wash all the dirt away that Jim and I laid in the backyard. Thankfully that didn't happen but we aren't done with this flooding rain. Fingers crossed.
What else? Oh, this is kind of funny. I was upstairs earlier, getting ready to do yoga and I heard a car pull up in the circle which is weird. And then I heard a loud POP!!! And then another one. So I look out the window and I see my neighbor, Cari's sister trying to sneak a bunch of balloons out of her car to tie to Cari's mailbox (it's her birthday today). I think of the dozen balloons it looked like she had, only two made it. What can you do but chuckle?
Plans for the day: Who knows...paperwork...emailing parents...not much else. Jim's going to do a bit of cleaning around here since he can't get outside. I'll probably do some reading. I'm reading three books right now: Becoming by Michelle Obama but I only read that in the bathtub (because it's a hard back); I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. It's a reread (getting ready to watch she series that's coming out on HBO). I read this while I cook. It'll move up to the tub when I finish Becoming. And then I'm reading The Witch Elm by Tana French. I read this at night in bed (because it's on my tablet and I don't bother Jim with the light on at night when he's trying to sleep). Exciting, huh?
Dinner tonight: It's a rainy soup type of day so I'll make a WW Pasta Fagioli and salad (Jim requested). Should be yummy...I hope.
And that's about all I've got. Guess I'll check some emails, do some grading (though I've already posted grades but I got an email from a parent whose kid was going to finish up some stuff) and then get on the elliptical. YAY!
Happy Tuesday! Later...stay healthy.
