First week of work, under my belt! Yay! Can't wait to celebrate that tonight. No big plans...just dinner, TV, and wine. Maybe even a bath! We'll be hunkering down, preparing for the snow that's coming on Saturday, which I'm excited for!
So here's a question: Jim and I were watching the Wheel last night and they had "Throwback Puzzle" as they went to commercial (they showed a clip from a puzzle that aired several years ago). The puzzle was Thing and the answer was DOORKNOB. When Jim read it out aloud, he pronounced it "Doork - nob". So my question is, would that get you a win or a loss because you've said the word as the letters appear so what's wrong with that? It's like the two different ways you say Caribbean or potato or tomato...and now, doorknob. (I bet you'll now, forever say doork-nob instead of door-knob kind of like I say "Man-DAR-in" rather than "Man-DA-rin" because of Diane).
Plans at school today: We're learning about rocks in science. Who knew rocks were so interesting? In LA, we finally finished the movie and the kids will do some independent seat work today (which they will surely bitch and moan about) but it's got to be done. And then in history, we're talking Industrial Revolution. History is normally my fave class to teach but with this group this year, it's painful. Although, one of my kids is starting to open up and actually volunteer answers and participate. I'm constantly feeling like "Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?" in that class. UGH!
Okay well, I really didn't have much to talk about and am surprised I got that much down! Yay me! Happy Friday! Later!
