I came home yesterday and the slider was open and the boys were so happy! In fact, I don't think they laid down until it was time to go to bed and I kenneled them up. They love this weather!
Additionally when I got home I decided to take them for a walk. I did this one at a time because I wasn't sure how they'd do with the harnesses I put them in (they did great). I took Boo first and he's a pro at walking. He doesn't pull and he only needs a slight tug if he decides to stop and sniff (which I don't allow them to do because it becomes obsessive). Scout is still learning the ins and outs of walking (walking to my left, in the grass rather than in the street, not stopping every 5 seconds to sniff etc.). One area where he excelled, however, was in meeting another dog. My neighbor was out at the corner with his dog (a boxer/pit mix it looks to me) waiting for the school bus. Scout was nervous but he did great! He sniffed the other dog and then we all walked home together. He was a little wary of the big guy but he didn't let it freak him out. I was so proud of him and it made me happy to see that he can hang with other dogs. Boo...well, we'll have to ease him into that. His reaction when he sees other dogs (big dogs) is to bark like a fool. And climb up my ass!
Oh, and everyone will be happy to hear that Jim got the tree chopped up yesterday into proper pieces for splitting. Of course our neighbor, Jordan, did all the chainsaw work but at least it got done. I told Jim I would stack it but he said, no, he would do it today. We'll see. I hope he pushes himself and gets it done...he needs to get stronger!
Jim had a follow up appointment for his hip yesterday. All is well with his hip but he's having issues with his ankle and the doc put an order in for PT. I think Jim's biggest issue is he's lost a TON of muscle mass and he needs to build it back up. I think if he got on the recumbent more he'd be 100 times more flexible. But of course I can't say that because he takes it as though I'm nagging him and I don't know anything. So annoying.
Boo's so funny! He's running around with his little chicken in his mouth looking for Scout to play with. He ran outside with it and I told him to bring it back inside. He did, about 3 minutes later, without Scout. He then went running upstairs, still looking for Scout but didn't find him there so came back downstairs and went outside. About 5 minutes later, they both came trotting back inside, each with a portion of the chicken in their mouths. Man they are cute!
Okay well, it's time for me to get this Friday started! So happy it's the last day of my workweek! This week flew by! Next week and for the next 8 work days, it's going to go by like molasses in January because testing starts. Ugh! Hate! Poor kids! Poor me who will have to have students for almost 4 hours every day! So stupid.
