You Can Ring My Bell!

First I'll let you know that all went well at the doctors yesterday. Jim's CT scan came back clean and his numbers are coming down "impressively" (as Jill stated). This means that his prednisone dosage comes down another 20 mg and  though it isn't happening as fast as the doctor wants, it's happening. Next week, if things continue in the same way, we will probably do a slightly more drastic reduction. Woot!

Although everything went swimmingly at the doc in terms of Jim's progress, it was a very frustrating evening there. A little background: We have been warned that this doc typically runs an hour to two hours behind. That had never been our experience, however, until last night. Our appointment as at 4:40. We got there around 4:30. We waited in the waiting room for only about 20 minutes or so and we were taken back and Jim's vitals were taken.  From there we were taken into and exam room to sit. And sit we did. The doctor probably didn't come in until 6:30. I wasn't annoyed however, because as I've said, we've been warned and Jill (the nurse practitioner), knowing he was running crazy behind, had already popped in to give us good news. When the doc came in he said all of his patients were really sick  and needed a lot of attention. Understood...we were in that position A LOT lately and I'm sure it affected others appointments.

After we left we didn't get to dinner until late (Red Robin...probably not going there again anytime soon...burger was good but restaurant is a pit). We didn't get home until 8:30 and then I couldn't go right to bed because I wanted to ensure the pups had plenty of time to play. Sleep didn't come until 10:30ish. (Recall my post yesterday...ugh!)

So Scout has finally figured out the bells on the door. He now rings the damn things ALL THE TIME and I LOVE IT!!! You can tell he's so proud of himself too. It's like he realized, "Hey! When I ring these bells, my mom opens the door, praises the bejeezus out of me and then when I come in, I get a treat!" And every time he rings them and I approach him, he wiggles his butt (wagging his tail) like crazy...so happy with himself. So proud of my little boy. Now he just needs to teach his brother how to do it.

Okay well, time to get a move on. Oh and I have to take next Tuesday off for our doctors appointment. They could only fit us in at 11:20 and that just can't work with taking a 1/2 day. Oh well, that means I'll get a 4 day weekend! Guess there are some perks to all this shit.

Happy Wednesday. Later!
