Traveling Plans

I think I jinxed myself in my last post when I spoke of sleeping like the dead because last night was NOT a restful sleep. I woke up at 2:30 and felt like I never got back to sleep...although I know I did.  My dreams, however, were giving me fits. I had this dream that I was at a power ride class that just wouldn't start. I kept peddling and peddling to warm up but the stupid instructor wouldn't get it together and start the stupid class. I was with Maggie and I finally said to her, "I'm outta here and I'm getting my money back!" So we got up and told the owner we wanted our money back because the class - after an hour - never started. And then I realized something and whispered to Maggie, "We never paid, did we?" Weird. Not sure why I had that dream.

Well, knock on wood, cross your fingers and lets hope nothing gets jinxed here: I have made plans to go to Maggie's next weekend! It's been OVER 3 months since I've been there and that is NOT okay! I talked to Jim and he said, "You need to go! You need to get away from everything and go see Maggie and Eva." I knew he would say that but I wanted to make sure he was truly comfortable having me gone with everything going on. I think he's on the verge of being able to drive and I would say that by next weekend, small trips to Kroger would be fine. My biggest worry in terms of driving is the leg swelling. However, that has reduced significantly in the last couple days. In fact, I think he should be able to get his own socks on soon. Woot! I will take a half day (personal) on Friday which I hate doing to the kids but I don't care. Mental health is needed here. Although I have to be out on Monday too for another stupid PD. Oh well, what are you going to do. Hopefully my days out of the classroom are going to be few and far between from here on out.

The rain right now is ridiculous. We've gotten about 2 inches already in the last couple of days and we're supposed to get another 2-3 in the next 36 hours. I hate that for my backyard and the dogs but they've gotten very good about waiting at the door and letting me wipe their paws. Jim's not very adept at it, however. Oh well. Furniture is covered from muddy paws so it's all good.

Okay well, gotta get ready and head out. I think I'll go the back way to work today and avoid the highway and possible hydroplaning. Happy Friday - this time tomorrow I hope to be sleeping. Later!
