Happy birthday to Jimmy who turns 50 today! And don't you know that I have to be at work until 8:00 tonight!? Stupid! And of course with the ice and whatnot yesterday, I didn't get a chance to go out and get him even a card! I'm a terrible wife and person. Oh well...we got to spend the day together yesterday and enjoyed playing some games on the Wii. And hey, Jim beat me for the first time in darts! (Of course I beat him at Mario Cart but he's not supposed to be driving anyway so it's understandable). So happy birthday Jim! Hope you enjoyed the day you got to spend with me and the pups!
In health news, Jim's levels are coming down nicely and we have been able to reduce one of his daily doses of prednisone to 60 mg (80 in the morning and 60 in the evening). Hopefully things will continue at this pace (or better) and the dosage will come down steadily every week. He's also seeming more like himself lately which is nice. It's usually only at the end of the day that his weird voice returns but I can handle that. Additionally, he didn't nap at all yesterday and kept busy all day. Today, he'll go out and about with his brother and work on his "jobs" that I've given him.
Oh, they did put him on lasix again for 5 days. His legs (especially ankles) are just huge. I haven't looked at them since he had his first dose yesterday but he's currently in the shower and I'll put his compression socks on before I leave. I'm hoping they are improving.
Yesterday was a great day! We had a fire going from about 7:00 until bedtime and the dogs couldn't have been happier. If you didn't see my pics on Facebook then go back and look because these boys are a glutton for coziness. They'll go outside and when they're let back in they both race to the hearth to warm their skinny little bodies. Boo is funny too because he'll get up on the hearth and turn around and stand there warming his buns. So sweet.
And that's all I've got today! I will be at school from about 7:00 until 8:00 tonight. First part of the night is Parent/Teacher conferences and then we have Academic Fair. We usually have about 5 parents show up for that...stupid. But it's fine. I hope to get some stuff done.
Oh, and I conferenced with my parent for the IEP that was scheduled yesterday. She's a bit clueless about her failing kid but we had a good talk and she says she'll get on him about doing his work. I'll believe it when I see it. He's a nice and good kid but lazy as shit. I try to do everything I can to get him motivated and passing but you can't follow them home and make them work.
Okay - time to sock up my husband. Happy birthday Jimmy and Happy Thursday! Later!
