Still No Definite Discharge Info
I think Jim is headed in the right direction. He seems to have a bit less loopiness everyday and the doctor seems to believe he should be released Thursday/Friday. My fingers are crossed...I’d really like to have him home by the weekend. I’ll need to know what to expect and watch for when that happens so I’m not a worried wreck but we’ll take it one day at a time.
Jim's mental state is good. He's now at that determined point. Determined to get better and get stronger so his body can fight what's happening. He did have a bit of a weepy moment yesterday when he thought about the puppies...he's worried they won't know him when he gets home and he realized how much he misses them. Made me tear up too...the only time yesterday where I got teary. That's a first in over a week.
I’ll go down to the hospital today around 10:30 or so. I told Jim I’d pick up whatever he wanted for lunch and he chose Which Wich (a sandwich place). It’s also right next to Taco Casa so I may have to treat myself as well. Yummy. I’ll probably stay down there until around 3:00 or so...now that people are back to work, traffic will be a disaster, I’m sure and I don’t want to get too close to driving during the rush.
School yesterday was fine. I completed most of what I wanted to get done but I’ll try and do things from home as well. I’ll have the same sub for all three days off and though she’s a bit of a pushover and the kids don’t always respect her, she knows my kids, is reliable and I just can’t worry about that.
In puppy news – this weather makes it difficult for these puppies to fully understand potty training. They’ve had more accidents in the last few days than they’ve had in all their time here. It’s just so hard for them to go out in the frigid cold while standing in the snow to poop. They’re little feet can’t take it. I usually go out there with them to hurry them along (otherwise they get distracted with eating snow or wood) and then pick them up and rush them inside once they’ve done their business.
Oh boy, they just went running out barking. See this is the problem...they get distracted and don’t do what they need to do and then when they finally say, “Oh, right...I have to pee/poop” their paws are frozen and they want in. Ugh...it’s a vicious cycle.
And that’s all I’ve got...my nose is driving me crazy...this dry weather causes havoc with my nasal passages and meds don’t really do anything. Ugh...maybe a nice hot bath will lube my nose.
K – I’m out…happy Wednesday. Later!
