Nothing Like A Good Cry In The Morning

Man - this is why I don't look at these things and I scroll quickly through Facebook when I see pictures of lost dogs or abused animals. I can't get through anything animal-wise without tears. This at least was a sweet and happy video. It's just so sad how abused poor Shirley must have been throughout her lifetime to look the way she does now. I'm always amazed at how cruel humans can be and I guess I shouldn't be.

TGIF! So happy it's Friday. I look forward to getting home today and enjoy the weather that is supposed to be sticking around for at least a week. Temps in the 70s and near 80 tomorrow. This certainly isn't normal October/November weather but I'll take it. For now. I'll look forward to my cold weather but not having to put the air on is a bonus. Plus I'm hoping to get a couple of bike rides in this weekend. We'll see if Jim will make those or not.

Other weekend news: We really don't have any major plans. I'd like to get out Saturday to shop around for new family room furniture. I'd like to go to Macy's and maybe Ashley furniture. We'll see. Sunday is an early morning kickoff for the Bengals since they're playing in London. Other than that, we'll just hang out and enjoy the weekend weather.

Scheduled an IEP meeting (my last) with Horshack. The mother then emailed me and asked that I invite our district sped coordinator. Not sure why. Usually she would only be present at difficult meetings and I don't think this one will be that. I'll email her and see if she's free or maybe she can just call the mother and see what's up. I think the mom thinks that my coordinator has some other insight or knowledge in opportunities for Horshack after high school. The reality is, I asked her to gather possibilities for me a couple years ago for another of my autistic students getting ready to graduate and she never followed through. We'll see.

And that's all I've got. Should be an easy day. I'll read to my LA kids and I've got a new show to show the kids in history: Pioneer Quest. If you've never seen this - it's a Canadian public television production that took two couples in 2000 and put them in the middle of nowhere to live for a year as the pioneers did (1800s). It is so good. I think the kids will love it.
