Already Touched

I was watching the news and they had a piece about that woman (special ed teacher) who got married and had a bunch of her special ed kids in her wedding. That's such old news...I heard about that about 2 weeks ago. All of which I said out loud and Jim just started laughing. I said, "What's so funny?" Jim: "It's a touching story Muir! Who cares when it happened!" Oh, yeah, right. Well, I was already touched by it.

Am I turning into a grumpy old woman? I think I might be. Ugh.

I had my recurring dream last night that I was moving out of my house (for no real reason and I didn't want to and I had to move into an apartment). Sucked. And to top it off, we had to be out in a week and had nowhere to go. Well, I was walking around in Clifton (of all places) and I found this awesome building that was being rehabbed with a new roof and new A/C. I stopped and walked through an apartment and it was beautiful - tons of woodwork, a fireplace, huge bedrooms, on the ground floor...awesome. And!!! it just so happened that a friend of ours owned the place so I asked if Jim and I could live there. It was the first place I had found that had me excited and not completely bummed about moving from my house. So he takes me aside and said if I were anyone else, he'd be happy to rent the apartment to me and Jim but he just couldn't do that to us. Why? Well, through the old air grates in the floor, during the evenings, rats come through. ARG!!!  I'm never moving!

Got new tires! Excited! All four are ready to roll and I no longer need to deal with the slow leak caused by a nail. Woot! Should be good to go for another 65,000 miles.

Finished the quilt for my mom (to be given to my cousins, son's baby girl). I hope she likes it. It was certainly a labor of love. I was able to stitch her name in the edging too...cute! Her name is Mary Jo by the way. It turned out a little larger than a baby quilt but who's going to complain about that. It wish I could have quilted it the way I normally do - to give it a little more flair - but alas, my sewing machine is an asshole.

K - I best get a move on. So happy it's Friday. I woke up this morning not knowing why the hell my alarm was going off. I usually don't start feeling this way by end of week until April/May...does not bode well for this school year.

Happy Friday! Later!
