Most of you have seen where I live or at least pictures. Just in case though, I live in a cul de sac where the turn around is a huge grassy area (road surrounding). In the middle, we've (Jim) has installed a bucket with whiffle balls, bats, bases and he draws the lines for the field whenever they start to fade. Understand, this area is private property, owned by several of us that live around the circle. It doesn't look like a park although the kids often leave toys strewn out there, including the balls.
So, yesterday evening I'm getting dinner together and I hear Sami at the front window growling which tells me either Jane the Great Dane is out or someone is walking their dog. It was a woman, walking with a stroller and her Weimaraner. I go back to cooking. And Sami continues at the window so I go back to look at what might have her attention now. Well, much to my astonishment, the woman has stopped walking, removed her kid from the stroller and they are in the circle playing with the whiffle bats and balls. Now, I don't care that this was happening...I'm happy to see a cute little girl and her mom and dog playing (yes she left her dog on his leash) but I just found it odd. I mean, I wouldn't stop during my walk to play in someone's yard...even if my kid saw toys they wanted to play with...even if the kid started screaming her head off. They aren't your toys. It as weird. And she proceeded to stay out there for about 20 minutes. One of the fellow neighbor dogs (who doesn't have a fence or invisible fence) came out to the circle, it seemed to say, "HEY! Is this your yard?" Bizarre. But maybe that's just me.
By the way - did I already say this? I updated my book blog.
Okay so I guess I've got nothing else going on. Managed to finish the IEP for the meeting I have on Friday. Now I've got to do the IEPs for the kids going to the career center. I'm tempted to NOT do one for a kid that's supposedly moving to another town. BUT! I can't shirk my duties...not my style. Wish it were my style. Doesn't seem to have an effect on those whose style it is...but I just can't do that. Oh well.
K - I'm out. Need to stop at the ATM on the way in...Got about $75 that I need to distribute at school for one reason or another. UGH! Stupid retirees! K - Later! Happy Tuesday!
