The Hanke Sunday Post - UPDATE

Headlining today - of course - is...sad news...Muir and Jim didn't win the lottery.  There was one winner last night, I believe, from Rhode Island.  The bar I was sitting in yesterday when I purchased my ticket was sadly in Loveland, Ohio.  Which means, that unless the guidance counselor who purchases tickets for the high school when the pot gets big did some traveling this weekend - my hopes are dashed.

In entertainment news:  Jim and I watched Breaking Dawn Part I last night - well, I should say, I watched it and Jim snored through most of it.  Rude!  What kind of "date" is he?!  And the showing was at about 6:00!  What a loser.  Anyway - it was good.  I liked it.  There were some...um...how should I say - overacted parts (mainly Jacob and Alice) but as with most of the Twilight Saga movies, they get better the more you watch them.  (Not that I'll watch it again anytime soon - I mean lets face it, I have so much stuff on my plate right now as it is.  My DVR is about 78% full!  How will I have room on it for the next weeks worth of shows if I don't get rid/watch of some of the stuff on it!?)  Anyway - I certainly look forward to the final movie to see Bella in her transformed vampire self.  I wondered how the movie makers would turn Bella into the raving beauty that she became in the final book once she turned lady vamp.  I mean, Bella/Kristin Stewart is pretty but not quite the raven-haired beauty that she became in the Breaking Dawn book.  Solution:  Make her look like complete and total shit pretty much from frame 1 of Breaking Dawn.  Seriously - she looked like ass (in a good way).  I'm sure she didn't actually lose the weight to look like that for real but it certainly looked realistic. Nice job there.  Anyway - good movie.

In obituary news:  As we all know by now - Whitney Houston died.  I was flipping channels and saw a ticker go by and by and by.  Finally I read it and I said to a sleeping Jim, "Holy shit!  Whitney Houston died!"  I can say that I was surprised but really, when I think about it, I'm not.  Whether or not she overdosed, I'm sure it was drugs that killed her.  And from the footage they keep showing from the other night, she wasn't clean.  Regardless, it's always sad when someone with a talent like that throws their life away.

News on the family front:  Got this pic from Anne this morning.  She, Madison and Max spent the night at Trip and Susan's last night.  They gave T&S a date night and Anne took the kids to Frisches for dinner.  J.J. must have been in hog heaven having quality time with 2 of his fave cousins not to mention the Hot Fudge Cake he got to scarf on at Frisches!  YUMMY!

And looking at the future:  Jim and I talked about going to a movie today but I need to go shopping for some pants.  I may forego the movie to do that.  I'll drag Jim along with me because he enjoys being a Maxxinista too.

And that concludes our broadcast.  Bundle up Ohioans...it freakin' nippy out there today.  Later

UPDATE
This is so funny!  So I was just rereading one of my posts from earlier this week and I read this line:  "Then, when I went downstairs after showering with Bubba, he stayed outside forever drinking a gallon of water."  I think I need to clarify - I didn't shower with Bubba.  That isn't they way we roll in the Hanke household (my dogs prefer baths).  Just kidding.  I should have said, "After showering, I went downstairs with Bubba."  I can't believe no one said anything (Maggie).  But I guess everyone is used to my antics (that's disgusting) with my puppies.  K...funny...later!
