Disciplinary Action!

First of all, lets all bow our heads for today is NO PANTS DAY!!! Unfortunately, I was already dressed and in my pants when I found this out! It's also Tuba Day! I won't be taking my tuba with me to school, I'm sorry to say because 1) I don't play the tuba and 2) I don't own a tuba.

Well let me start by saying I don't know why I keep getting surprised by the unethical and lying ways that my administration continues to run my school. Short and sweet? My VP - Mr. Adhd - is now saying that he told me directly to cancel the meeting. He's point blank lying. I've now been summoned to meet with my VP and principal on Monday (yesterday's meeting was cancelled because FW couldn't make it) and I've been told that I "might want a district representative with me because disciplinary actions may be taken against me". Of course, yesterday, this sent me into a meltdown. I was a mess. However, I contacted and explained the shituation to one of the reps who directed me to contact our main, top union rep (she's the main lady...former special ed teacher too...I've called and am awaiting her return call). I've also (Lisa actually did this for me since I was a mess) got the ladies from Warren County DD to write a letter regarding the circumstances. I've contacted the woman from the career center too who witnessed Mr. Adhd telling me that the student was not to attend the meeting and asked her to put it in writing (that he never mentioned it being cancelled). We'll see what happens. The rep who I talked to yesterday told me that they can't take disciplinary action against me and that they are just trying to bully and threaten me. I want so badly to nail their asses to the wall. I wonder if I have a case for a grievance since Mr. Adhd lied and called into question my reputation.

So, today I'll be worrying and waiting for a phone call from the union rep. I'll probably - depending on when she calls me and what she tells me to do - email Mr. Adhd back telling him that I won't meet without my rep and that it will have to happen based on her convenience...could be Monday but possibly at another time/date. I was told too by my rep at the high school that when my main union rep hears the story, she'll make one phone call (to my superintendent) and most likely that will be the end of it. I'm not counting my chickens though.

Here are the interesting points in this whole thing:
  1. If I had been told to cancel and this was such a problem, why then did Mr. Adhd come into my IEP meeting and sit there for the entire thing? He could have stopped it. He could have pulled me out and questioned why it was going on. Why didn't he do this? Becuase he never told me to cancel it!
  2. Why, when FW went to him to express my concerns regarding the law and allowing the student to attend his own meet, why then didn't Mr. Adhd bring up to FW the fact that the meeting was to be cancelled? (By the way, I'm not convinced that FW will be backing me up here either...knowing her and her history, she'll be playing the "dumb blond" - maybe-he-said-that-and-I-don't-remember card.)
  3. Why, when Mr. Adhd brought up the whole business about the student, why did he say he would see me later at the meeting (which he did but I was walking away in the main office and I don't think I have any witnesses to that).
Here's what I hope to be able to say to Mr. Adhd:
"Shame on you! Shame on you for first, not standing up for the rights of the student. Second, shame on you for not admitting you made a mistake. Shame on you for lying about a teacher. Shame on your for being worried about your own ass. I hope to God that you aren't using this example to bring up your own kids because you are NO example for what a human being should be! So scary that you work in a building full of impressionable kids."

I would say the same thing too to FW - if she doesn't back me up!

Okay, I need to put on my tough skin and head to work. I don't look forward to today. Oh, and how funny is it that it's Teacher Appreciation Week!? Nice!
