Hiccups During the Night

The fact that I'm not extremely hung over must be a testament to, I don't know, my ability to hold my liquor. Yesterday, Jim and I went over to my neighbor's house again (Jane) swam, ate dinner, played Euchre and Muir did some overindulging! Youza! Drinking from 3 until 11 is not conducive to...my sobriety. I woke up in the middle of the night with major hiccups. That was a first. It was so crazy. Oh, and a raging headache. I immediately, stumbled downstairs, got the giant bottle of ibuprofen, swallowed 4, chugged some water and went back to sleep. I managed to sleep until 8 this morning (a record) and I feel great now. This paragraph makes me sound like a lush. Oh well, I so rarely do that anymore so don't judge!

The problem, however, is we're going out again tonight and I'll be forced to drink draft beer. Or, headache in a cup as I like to call it. I'm not sure my body can take it so I'll be sipping slowly and drinking more Pepsi than beer. It's our annual outing to the Immaculata festival in Mt. Adams tonight. We go every year and gamble, I mean, give to the church, with my friend Terri. I'll just have to take it easy and not get too crazy. Terri's a bad influence though. Cross your fingers that Muir's a big winner!!! Mamma needs a new pair of shoes. And pants. I could use some new tops too.

Anyway, today we're going over to Raeburn to lay in the sun and swim. That should clear my foggy brain. I'll have to remember to eat well to ensure a clear head tomorrow morning. I could go for a big old breakfast right now but I guess I'll just have some Raisin Bran instead.

Oh, I forgot, get this: In the mail yesterday, I got a package from HH (head honcho at school). Like I needed to hear from this guy before the summer was even over. The man who drives me out of my mind! I mean, you wonder why I drink! He sent a video on co-teaching. Apparently, this is the version of "training" that he promised the teachers who are being forced to co-teach. Oh, and I'm one of the few who has already been to a conference on it. He sent with it, a letter promising all this other "training in the future", "discussion times" and a "Guide to team teaching". Gee, I wonder what teacher has been up his ass helping him with that this summer. Oh, and he wants those of us co-teaching to attend a voluntary meeting on our work day. What an ass!!! Like I have the time to do that on our work day. I'm tempted to not go but then that just gives him more ammo. He does everything last minute. Drives me nuts. Got my teaching schedule though. Should be interesting.

My mantra this year: Suck it! Of course I say it under my breath with a smile on my face. Don't want anyone accusing me of not being friendly! Ha!

K - I need a drink now. Ha!

I got the package too!!! I previewed it last night (due to going on vacation this week and I didn't want to deal with it when I came back) and it's so stupid. Same old crap! I like your new mantra! We'll have to come up with some sign language for it. Oh, but then Crazy will certainly figure it out since she's an expert in sign language. Hmmm ...
