So yeah, I'm home. I actually forgot (like I knew I would) to put my absence in and by the time I got up it was too late. I'll have to email our secretary and have her put it in. Woops. Unfortunately, I legitimately have a cold which is still hanging on. Added to that I woke up at 1:15 with a massive headache that still hasn't completely gone away. I'll take something here in a bit but I was hoping some caffeine would do it. It hasn't.
My plans for today: After this I'll exercise. I need to walk the pups and at some point finish up my laundry and clean. If I'm up to it, I'll head to Costco and Aldi later. On my way there, I'm going to go to the bank and pay off my mortgage. I'd planned on doing this last month but was waiting for the trust stuff to be taken care of. Now that it is, (I also have a phone conference with Greg, my financial planner to decide what to do with the money), I'll get the final debt I have paid off. That's pretty exciting.
One thing I've been contemplating is our outdoor space here. I definitely need to have our deck rebuilt and while we do that, I want to put in some sort of pool. I'm thinking about a type of lap pool, possibly with a spa attached that is butted up against the deck. The biggest thing I need to figure out is if it can be installed in my backyard...if it can be finagled back there. I'll do some investigating today and write down some companies in the area that do these type of installs and then make some phone calls. I also need to find out who can build the deck. It's a big job and will take a lot of planning so I need to get my mind set.
Plans for the weekend: Tomorrow we're going to Terri and Marc's for a little afternoon hangout but we should be home by 6 or 7. Sunday we're going to deliver our ballots to the Board of Elections and go out to lunch. Other than that, no big plans. Oh, dinner tonight will be Detroit pizza and a salad. Yum!
My dinner last night? The creamy sausage and pepper pasta? It was as delicious as I'd hoped it would be. Jim LOVED it. I loved it too but Jim devoured it. I made it with bucatini which, again, Jim loved but I think next time I'll do it with linguini. Bucatini is just so hard to twirl and keep on your fork. Check out my "Pasta" board on Pinterest if you're interested. It was really good and I'm betting will great left over. Oh, and I used coconut milk instead of heavy cream.
I started watching the new season of Shrinking yesterday. So good. Another awesome show with great writing.
And that's all I've got. Time to get my shit together and start my day. Or maybe I'll drink one more cup of coffee. Happy Friday. Happy weekend. Later!
