In other news, today is my Friday and the last day of 1st quarter! I wish I could say that it flew by but it just sort of went normal I think. Actually, now that I think about it, maybe it creeped along but that's probably because of everything I had going on these past weeks. Hopefully as we hop into 2nd quarter and barrel our way toward the holidays things will move along a little faster. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, like I said, tomorrow I'll be taking off. I actually have an appointment scheduled and I'm still nursing this sore throat. I started coughing in the middle of the night but that seems to have subsided now that I'm awake. Hopefully this is as "bad" as this gets. Regardless of all that, I will be posting a little later than usual tomorrow so don't freak out!
I'm pretty excited about my dinner tonight. I hope I'm not jinxing things. I'm making Creamy sausage and peppers pasta with a salad and tell me if you don't think this looks yummy!? It's got spinach and hot Italian sausage, peppers and I'm making it with bucatini. I can't wait. I hope it's as good as I've hyped it up to be. The reviews were really good so I'm pretty hopeful.Oh, I received a response to my email from FW (sped coordinator) yesterday...finally. To my email that said, "Is this required? Can I opt out?" She said, "Do you have concerns about this PD?" I originally started answering with things like, "I don't want to be out of the classroom" (I don't); "It's a pain to plan for an absence" (It is); "I don't care to go visit classrooms - elementary - that aren't relevant to what I do". However, in the end, I just said, "I don't see that it would be relevant". I'll probably be forced to go to this PD and FW will probably take this personally but the reality of it is exactly what I said: It's not relevant. I'd rather have a say in the PD they have us do but of course they never ask us what we want. At least I made my thoughts known though. Twenty-five years in, I'm not willing to just go along with shit I don't agree with anymore. Does that make me a bitch? I don't think so.
Today should be easy. In ELA we're finishing up West Side Story and in history we'll continue watching The Martian. How, you ask, have I justified watching The Martian in history? Well, we're about to start a chapter on explorers and exploration. Bam!
K - I'm out. Happy Thursday! Happy birthday Trip. Later!
