Oh, here's a funny: I was laying in my bed, crushing some candy around 3:45. I'd just walked Scout and was waiting for the boys' dinner time to roll around so I could feed them before getting on the elliptical. Suddenly just outside my window in the front yard I heard a woman clapping and yelling, "You get out of here. Go on! Get!" The boys leapt to the window and gave out low growls as I hopped up and saw my neighbor running around. She'd been driving into the neighborhood and stopped her car in the middle of the road to get out of her car and chase off a hawk. We've had a hawk (a Cooper's Hawk I think) lately perching on our feeders searching, I'm guessing, for its next meal. Poor little birds and squirrels. Stupid hawk.
Dinner tonight: Grilled pork tenderloin, broccoli and probably some long-grained wild rice. Simple yet yummy.
The saga at work continues. I got a bit more information yesterday but the investigation is still ongoing. The teacher in question is still at work but she's got a union lawyer on her side as the powers question those involved. I've heard from one teacher that another teacher turned this teacher in but I have a hard time believing some things. It's often like a game of telephone with all the rumors that spread out through the staff and if I've learned one thing, it's nothing is ever as it seems. We'll see what happens. I don't really believe the accusations about this teacher. The lesson here, however, is that people need to mind their P's and Q's around my principal because he's out for the blood of some. On that same note, he needs to mind his P's and Q's as well because with his pattern of targeting women, it could certainly be seen as harassment. I'll keep you up to date as I learn things.
I've been listening to a really good book: The Love of My Life by Rosie Walsh. It's a good little mystery...not scary but just things aren't as they seem mystery. I really like the reader for the audiobook too. This author has another book I've got on my list as well that was a NYT best seller called Ghosted, which I've also got on my list. Anyway, she's good if you're looking.
And that's all I've got. So happy it's Thursday and that this time tomorrow it will be Friday and I'll be on the cusp of the weekend with no real plans! Woot. Later!
