Little by little I'm feeling better. I still had a slight tinge of a sore throat overnight but it's not bad. I'm still slightly snotty but not bad. My belly seems to be back to normal and I slept well last night. (Well, until Jim tripped over something at 12:30 and made a ruckus but I managed to fall back to sleep quickly.) I can't tell you the last time I felt sick with a cold. Weird.
Speaking of which, I get my flu shot on Thursday. Jim needs to go get his. Of course I keep telling him but I'm sure he's forgotten (well, I've only told him twice).
School is annoying me. So get this: I have a student - a senior - who I have 4th bell in GI and 5th bell for ELA. At the beginning of the day, I always check to see which kids in my classes are absent, so I had seen that my senior was present (no one was absent from my 4th bell). So 5th bell rolls around and I'm in my gradebook and I see that all of a sudden this student is absent. So I ask her, "Were you late today? You're marked absent." She said she wasn't. So I emailed the attendance secretary and said, "Hey so-and-so is marked absent but she's here and said she was on time." I then get an email back from the secretary saying, "Oh, that's for tomorrow...tell her to come see me and I'll explain it to her...it has to do with the vaccine thing." (BTW - seniors were required to have the meningococcal vaccine by yesterday which is what the secretary was talking about.) But here's my thing - why the EFF would you mark her absent before she's absent on a day she's not absent so that her teachers think she's absent and records will show she wasn't there when she was!? Dumb asses! Oh, and within 15 minutes of me checking on this, the absence was fixed. Which tell me that the secretary had fucked up. Assholes!Jim's being a drama queen. I've mentioned before his feet, right? He's got this buildup of calluses due to his meds. I bought a pedicure tub thing and it works great. We've done it once and afterward, for the next couple days Jim was so happy with how good his feet were feeling. So I told him, "We need to keep up with this and do it 2-3 times a week but you have to be proactive." And of course he isn't. He always waits for me to say something. So this morning he's walking like a moron...overexaggerating and stumbling and standing at the bottom of the stairs, preparing to go up just in my eyesight. I swear I even saw him glance at me as though to see if I was noticing his trouble. So annoying.
Speaking of annoying...Jim was annoying yesterday too. Of course because I didn't feel great the last couple days, Jim suddenly didn't feel well either. None of my symptoms were his symptoms but as I was sitting at my desk yesterday morning, Jim called to say he was taking a Covid test. Me: Okay, go for it but you don't have Covid. We hung up and then a minute later he calls back and says he can't figure out how to take the test. I was all like, What the fuck do you want me to do about it?! Pull the damn directions out and figure it out!" I mean, does he think I've got the directions memorized? I had to read how to take the test just like him. Why is he so helpless!? ARG! BTW - he figured it out and guess what? Yup, negative.
Okay - I'm done with being an asshole. Happy Tuesday. Later!
