Rough Start

First of all WHO DEY!!! Way to go Bengals!!! Of course I wasn't able to watch the game because I'm a loser but I saw the highlights and am so happy for how well those boys played. I loved the white uniforms too.

Why does a short week seem to be harder to get through than a regular week? I've been feeling so run down lately. I don't know why. Maybe it's the weather. Maybe it's just my energy sapped from last weekend. Who knows. This morning when my alarm went off at 4:15 and I got out of bed, I thought Ain't no way I've got it in me to get on the elliptical! But I went through my normal routine: Let the dogs out, make coffee, drink my Metamucil, take my vitamins, feed the dogs and then hunker down for a bit on the couch while watching the news, checking my mail, playing Wordle and seeing what's happened overnight on social media. As I did that I thought again, Just not feeling it. I'll just take a rest today. And then I got a bit of a boost of energy and I thought of the new episode of GBBO waiting for me and so, I powered through and did 30 minutes. And I do feel accomplished but I'm still just so tired. Thank the baby Jesus it's Friday.

BTW - I do realize that yesterday in my post I used the wrong form of it's/its. Unfortunately, I noticed after I was able to fix it. Please forgive this English major and lover of grammar. Sometimes we all stumble, that's the lesson I learned.

The weekend has a lot in store for the Hankes. I bought the chalk paint for the fireplace and my goal is to A) spray the fireplace glass screen thingy (it's brass and I hate it) and B) whitewash the stone. While I do this, Jim will be painting doors and frames. I also plan on him repainting the living room/dining room. I want to redo the big red wall a better color but I haven't chosen one yet. I need a color deck but I'm thinking a nice brown of some sort. We'll see. Other than that, we will, I'm sure head to Shooters, clean the house and after that, who knows. Rest. Relax.

Jim's truck still isn't fixed but he did get it back. The part was ordered but it's going to take 10 days to get delivered. I said to Jim this morning, "At least you don't have to take the bus today." His answer was, "I'm really going to miss those idiots that take the bus." I'm sure there are some stories there...it's always an experience when you take public transit.

Today at school is a wonky schedule because we have a pep rally at the end of the day since it's Homecoming weekend. I forgot which means classes will be shorter and the lab I had planned for my Biology class will have to be pushed off until Monday. (It's a lab testing items for pH and determining whether they are acids or bases...exciting, huh?) After school, around 5:00, there is a get together planned for a colleague who's turning 50 this weekend. I'm not sure I'll go or not. I'm just so tired. I'll decide later though.

Okay well, I'd best get a move on. Happy Friday! Happy weekend. Later!
