Yesterday was a productive day. I got everything except for two items (unimportant) checked off my list (of about 20 things). When I got to work, walking in, one of my colleagues said, "So and so has one hour left to have her yoga training done so she's going to do a little class in my room at 8 if you want to join." Since I had my yoga mat in my car I said, "Sure!" So at 8:00 I moseyed two doors down into the second hottest room in the building (aside from mine) to do a 45 minute class of (unintentional) hot yoga. If you know me, you know I hate hot yoga. When I do yoga, I do it with a fan blowing on me. Mostly because I sweat like a whore in church which makes it hard for me to get into certain poses. Not to mention yesterday was terrible because it wasn't like I was in my yoga clothes. I was a mess. But, it was nice to get in an unexpected yoga class.
Speaking of "I sweat like..." sayings, here are a few that are hilarious (and maybe a little disgusting and inappropriate, to which I don't apologize):
- I am sweating like a group of nuns at a cucumber farm.
- I am sweating like a one-legged hooker working both sides of the street.
- I am sweating like a cat burying a shit on a marble floor.
- I am sweating like a dyslexic on the countdown. (I'm allowed to say this since I'm a special ed teacher).
- I am sweating like a hemophiliac in a knife shop
- I am sweating like a Christian in a science class
Dinner tonight will be parmesan crusted pork chops, probably with green beans and maybe some wild rice. Nothing special.
Scout has been itching like a maniac. Have I mentioned that? Around this time of year, his skin often gets very touchy. If you try and pet his back, he flutters crazily. Currently it's a little different than usual because he's also scratching and gnawing himself. When we got home Saturday I noticed it and gave him a medicated bath, redosed him on his flea/tick medicine and wondered if the new food was the culprit. I stopped giving him the food (it was lamb) but things aren't much better after several days. I'll keep an eye on him and maybe get some soothing oatmeal shampoo and try a bath again.
Okay well, I'd best get to school. I'm still not sure what the day will hold. Classes are only 25 minutes long so I need to figure out what I'll be doing with my 1 or 2 freshmen that show up.
Happy Wednesday. Wish me luck! Later!
