I was hoping that we were over the hump with Ulysses but alas, he's still being a dick! Yesterday - 1st period started and while announcements were being made I asked students to put their phones away (which I always do since it's a RULE!). Of course Ulysses tucked his, still plugged into his ear buds, down on his seat, under his hip. So I asked him to unplug it (because he's allowed to have his ear buds in but not plugged in) and put the phone away. He said no, got up, got loud, said he was going to his counselor and I pointed to the door. I explained - AGAIN - that this was a rule that his mother agreed with and he said "but it helps me! and I want it changed!" I then called his case manager and she sighed heavily thinking as I did that this was past us. She then set up a meeting (which I had thought was already being set up but apparently not) for this morning at 7:00 AM. I'll be interested to see how Ulysses acts toward me and his case manager when his mom is around. I wonder if he'll be as loud and disrespectful. Probably.
And it's picture day. However, with the 7:00 meeting, I don't know if I'll be able to get my pic taken. I may have to go during my plan period...or not at all.
What else? Nothing. The projector wasn't fixed yesterday but I managed and the tech guy should have it fixed by today...I hope. He did lend me a laptop and projector on wheels for the time being, however, so that's good.
And now I've got to get a move on. Storms today and then weather which will make me jones for fall...highs for the rest of the week in the 70s. Windows back open - YAY!
