1 Down...179 To Go(ish)

Yesterday was interesting to say the least. It started well but ended a little out-of-control. Not me, mind you, a student.I was actually quite proud of the way I handled a complete blow up.  (I'll have to figure out what to call this kid.) Boy oh boy are we going to have an issue if this kid doesn't get the rules and quickly. Just to sum up - there's a kid who has come to us from the autism scholarship. He hasn't been in a public school setting since 4th grade. He hasn't been in a classroom larger than 4 since then. And he doesn't do well with people telling him what to do and thus "confrontation". I told him yesterday to put his phone away (which he was messing with) during class (I was in the middle of an activity with the kids). And he lost his mind. Yelled (yes, yelled) at me while standing and sticking his finger in my face, that he was going to use his phone because he had finished his work and blah blah blah. To make a long story short he and I are going to have a little discussion about the rules (hopefully privately before school starts today) and what I expect from him. His mom and I talked yesterday and she is completely supportive of that.

To put it mildly, I was exhausted by end of day and in bed trying to decompress by 7:00. I didn't go to sleep until around 9:00 but I fell hard and I don't think I moved at all and now my back is killing me. I also forgot how much I hate the start of school because I feel like I can't get anything done and I'm so unorganized (while I'm trying to get organized). Ugh! Relax...take a breath...this too shall pass.

And then Jim annoys me! Here I am trying to type this out quickly so I can get out the door and he's trying to rewind shit on the news I don't care about to show me because it doesn't interest me so I didn't see it the first time. I said, "Can I just look it up later on the Internet...I'm trying to rush here so I can leave". I even apologized. He gets all pissy and then we argue and I might as well have just watched the stupid video on a new roller coaster at Cedar Point. F&%K!

K - on that note (thanks Jim) I'm out. Later!
