I was a disaster yesterday. It started as I was perusing the Internet yesterday morning and I happened to look at Jim's appointment schedule with UC. I saw that aside from his appointment next Monday for the procedure with the thoracic surgeon, he has/had an appointment on Tuesday with the oncologist. It was set at 9:00 which was going to make it very difficult for me to make since I have a 7:30 IEP meeting. As I drove to work my mind started racing and I think everything (the unknown) started wearing on me. Poor Lisa got the brunt of my emotions and breakdown. I walked into our room (she was already there) and after about 2 minutes I said, "I'm starting to stress out" (or something like that) and then I burst into tears. This pretty much continued through the day.
The biggest problem is that Jim and I have gotten NO information about what's going on. Every time Jim's been told that someone will call to schedule this that or the other, no one calls...there's no follow through. These people think it's okay to call with devastating news at 3:30 on a Friday and then when they are supposed to call Monday, nothing. What kind of "bed side manner" is that?! Add to that: My husband, for some reason, has been sticking his head in the sand and not forcing the issue or taking the bull by the horns and finding out what the f&%k is going on! Is it any wonder I'm a wreck? To this day, I/we still don't know what kind of procedure is going to be performed next Monday. I don't know if Jim's going to be laid up or if he'll be able to drive (I know I have to take him Monday but will he be able to drive on Tuesday?).
I ended up having to ream Jim a new peep hole yesterday when 5 o'clock rolled around and he still hadn't heard from anyone and he hadn't taken it upon himself to call (even though I had sent him a text to do just that). His response to my, "What the f&%k?" was, "I just didn't want to think about it." Okay dumb ass (I love you) this shit isn't going to just go away! Get it together before I tear your ass apart. Of course I was much less a wicked bitch but this is what I was saying in my head.
I do believe my sense of calm has returned once again. I've got great colleagues and my administrator was so understanding about everything. I'm hoping the kids don't piss me off too badly today and I'm hoping I'll manage to accomplish all the things I need to today. Wish me luck!
Dinner out tonight with the neighbors. Not sure where but we talked about Maggiano's. I've ever been but it sounds delicious. Happy Tuesday. Later!
