Contemplation

So as the saying goes, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. I honestly didn't expect to start writing again but alas, life happens. Not only is the blog a good way of keeping the family abreast of situations but it is also an outlet for my own brain. Lesson learned I guess.

So most of you know that Jimmy had a bad scan a couple weeks ago and was ordered more tests (PET and MRI). As has been the case, his brain came back clear (really?). His PET scan, however, did not. The nodules he's had in his lungs have grown. The tumor board will meet today and decide the next course of action - possibly a CT guided biopsy. This should happen within the next two weeks, prior to his next appointment with the oncologist (he met with her yesterday). There were certain levels that came back that make this all more concerning but as I'm still learning and figuring all this out, I can't quite explain it all.

When Jim met with the oncologist yesterday, she said that in the two years since she first met Jim the drugs out there for his melanoma have advanced amazingly so if this is what they're thinking it is, there is a lot of hope and treatment.

That's what I'm going to keep in mind and keep telling myself. My state of mind right now is fine. I actually slept last night but I'm sure until we have an answer, I'll be up and down and back and forth and more of a basket case than I usually am.

In terms of this blog, I'll keep people updated as we learn things. I may not post every single day (minus weekends) but I won't give it up either.

On a positive note it's Beaujolais Nouveau Day!!! I remember when I worked at the liquor store this was a busy day! Everyone came in on this day to buy their Thanksgiving Beaujolais. If I werent' off the juice during the week, I may just go buy a bottle. Oh well.

K - time to get a move on. Happy Wednesday. Later!
