Productive Saturday

I had three goals in my shopping expedition yesterday: find a dress for Terri's wedding; find Jim a jacket for Terri's wedding and find new bedding for the new daybed. I was given strict directives by Maggie who knows me well: try the dresses on (anymore I try everything on because I'm still living in la la land thinking I'm the same size and can wear the same things as the Muir of 10 years ago), pick things that I may not otherwise pick (things look much different on rather than on the hanger) and don't get frustrated (in other words don't be Muir).

Not exactly my dress but very similar
Jim and I went to Steinmart first, mainly because I know they have reasonably priced jackets for men. Lo and behold, they don't carry jackets that are Jim's size. A) he needs long and B) they only carry up to a 48 (he wears a 50L). UGH! I hadn't really planned on looking for a dress there because normally their clothing is not my style, however I decided to give it a look see. I immediately found 3 dresses that appealed to me so I went to try them on. Two of the three worked and in fact, the first one I tried on is the one I bought. WOOT! And BONUS! It was an $80 dress on sale for $25 - HOT DOG!!! It's nice - a long-sleeved sweater dress...sort of geometric in pattern, brown and black. I just need to go get some black pumps and a necklace to go with...I'll do that today.

From there I went over to the bedding department and bought new sheets, a quilt comforter and over sized pillows for my new daybed, which is on it's way...should be here either this week or next. Can't wait.  Should be here just in time for my new mattresses (they should be delivered next Saturday). The quilt is a khaki and I bought pillows of the same quilt fabric but a nice blue. I just need to buy some standard pillows to go with. So excited.

From Steinmart we headed to J.C. Penny because I know they have a nice men's department. We found a very nice black jacket for Jim and BONUS! On sale from $200 for $80! YAY! We were home by 12:30. Very happy to have gotten what we needed without Muir having a total meltdown.

So Sami got me up this morning at 6:00 (really 5:00 since the time change). Devil. I'm okay with it, however because I don't want the time change to mess with me too badly. Interestingly, the fall back (when you gain an hour) usually effs with me more than springing forward...go figure.

And that's about all I've got. This week should be a bit hectic. I have my all day negotiation meeting Tuesday; an IEP on Thursday (that I haven't written yet); Academic Fair on Thursday (rescheduled from last week) and then I'm taking the day off Friday for Terri's wedding.

No plans today other than a quick shop for shoes and jewelry. Happy Sunday...time for a mimosa. Later!
