I have Terri's bachelorette/bridal shower tonight and this weather is not conducive for Muir partying it up. Granted Jim's my driver (he's so nice) but I'm still not comfortable with him driving me around with 6"-8" of new snow on the ground. Currently the roads are horrible but we've got a break right now so maybe there will be a bit of cleanup. However, the snow is likely to start again in a bit and there's more of a mix (sleet and snow) closer to the river. UGH! We'll see how the rest of the day plays out. I really don't want to miss Terri's party but I don't want to risk my life, car, etc. either.
In other news - I just ordered the bed you see on the left for the guest bedroom. I think Eva will highly enjoy this comfy spot and with the mattress sale at school next weekend, I hope to get a good deal on a couple of twin mattresses. I originally just wanted a daybed with storage but decided that this bed was too good to pass up. As you see it has a trundle AND storage. Bonus. This is good for Eva because she HAS fallen out of bed before so this will be a little safety measure. Now I just need to get some cute bedding and pillows. I may just have to design and sew up a new quilt too. I see a project in my future.
Lets see, what else. Oh, I headed into school yesterday and had an interesting discussion with the secretaries. (Kim and Diane, heads up). They asked me if I had any idea about a little "investigation" that seemed to happen a couple of weeks ago with the assistant superintendent and principal. Apparently several aides from our MH classroom were called in as well as the two teachers from those classrooms and a couple of aides from the junior high. It was said to have been very organized with each person questioned coming in one, right after the other. One of the secretaries said they heard the Asst. super say something along the lines of, "So you never witnessed anything like that?" I told the secretaries I had no idea what was going on (cause I don't). Unbelievable that this would be so hush hush considering the big mouths that occupy the MH classrooms. Of course I try to mind my own business but that doesn't mean I'm not immune to listening. Anyway - it's interesting at the very least.
And that's about all I've got. It's still snowing but not as hard as it was. Breakfast has been consumed and it's now time for me to get on the elliptical. Happy Saturday - wish me luck for this evening (not sure if that means I hope for a cancellation or what...just don't want risk my life!). Later!
