It must be the end of my summer because tonight is the night Jim and I join Terri in Mt. Adams for the only festival of the summer that we attend. Cross your fingers that we're "big winners" in blackjack! Last year, if I remember, I was NOT a big winner. In fact, I think I might venture to guess I was a loser. Mamma needs a new pair of shoes (although I just bought a pair) and a new wardrobe for the beginning of the - gulp - school year! Here are today's holidays and observances:
- National Garage Sale Day (Kim!!! Diane!!! It's your day!!!)
- Odie Day (Garfield's buddy - and by buddy I mean the buddy he teases and sometimes harms)
- Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Night (weird - who the eff comes up with this shit!?)
- Happiness Happens Day (goofy)
- Eleanor Roosevelt Day
Last night Jim and I watched the 3rd week of In Treatment (season 1). Seriously - I'm glad I'm not these people! I'm glad I'm not a psychiatrist too (though it would probably be fascinating). I would probably go off on my clients for being complete mentals! It wears me out just watching sometimes.
Oh, funny thing. I made Cajun Chicken Pasta last night for dinner. It calls for you to slice your chicken and then coat it with Cajun spices. So, I've got my bowl of sliced chicken and I'm shaking out the Cajun spices and - POP - the shaker lid thing comes off and - oops - the whole bottle of Cajun spices poured out onto my chicken. About a cups worth (recipe calls for a bit less than that - 2 teaspoons). All I could do was laugh. I used my colander and sifted off as much of the spices as possible but - YOWZA - dinner was a tad on the spicy side. Jim didn't mind. Oh well.
Well, that's about all I have for the time being. I'm gearing up for PIB next weekend - my true last hurrah! Jim and I will leave Thursday morning and return Monday. Maggie and Chuck will come Thursday night and I really look forward to a nice weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! I need to get my last tan on before - gulp - school starts!
K - I'm out. Laundry, a bit of cleaning, video store. Oh, and who out there has Time Warner bundle? I'm thinking about bundling cable, phone and Internet and need some advice. Later.

I have the bundle. I like it and the price is right. If your power goes out though, you won't have a landline phone until it comes back on. This never bothered me because we all have cell phones. Last September when the power was out for 3 days we just used the cell phones.
DId they have to come out to your house to do any of the connections?
yes, they had to. It didn't take them that long though, but you will have to be there.
