Today is nothing special. I didn't get married 8 years ago today. In fact, 8 years ago today, I was having a meltdown because my honeymoon got all kinds of screwed up and while Jim and I were supposed to be on a plane jetting toward Puerto Vallarta (or Port of Viagra as Jim likes to call it) we were instead bunking at PIB with the 'rents! Dude! Poor Jim. On this day 8 years ago, I'm sure he was wondering what the hell he was thinking. It all ended up OK though because we had a great week in PIB and ended up honeymooning in the spring in Navarre Beach, Florida.
Oh, by the way, today is Celebration of the Senses day. Whatever the eff that is.

So, last night's dinner was delicious. I made a "Down Home with the Neely's" dish: Pat's Smoked Pork Chops. As well, I served broccoli salad, corn on the cob and some leftover mac and cheese. For dessert I made a Dream Pie (mmm...PIE!!!) with strawberries. Oh, and can I just tell you that I am a DIY master!? That's right, a do-it-yourself queen! Why, you ask? Well, I finally went out and bought a new grill yesterday. See, for the past 6 months or so, I've had to rig my grill with aluminum foil because the bottom rusted out. And then, every few uses, Zeke would bust through the foil and munch on all the nasty, charred crumbs and drippings from previous bbq's. (Damn dog! No wonder he's always got the damn runs!) I had finally had enough yesterday and bought a Kenmore. HOWEVER, it was an "assembly required" purchase. So, yesterday, for about 3 hours I read, re-read, assembled, re-assembled and literally bent over backwards putting the thing together. And it works like a freakin' charm! I must say, I did a hell of a job sans Jim's help, mind you! Rather, Jim's interference. You know it would have taken him twice as long. I must give props to Kenmore too because their instructions were superb.
Okay so that's about all I've got on this fine sunny day. I'm heading out to the deck with my lovely cobra for some sun, reading and general laziness. And by the way, my tattoo is doing nicely and I'm ensuring that it sees no ray of sun until completely healed. It itches like a mo fo, however, and it takes everything I have not to scratch! Man!
K - later.
