Lots of Little Things

Okay I was sitting here thinking about all the things I didn't have to talk about when I realized there are several things I hadn't mentioned...

...like my new vacuum! Yesterday as I was cleaning the house, I had my MP3 player jammin' in my ears and didn't here the apparent THUNK that the vacuum made. However, I did see the thick, white smoke pouring out and I certainly smelled the stench that followed. Apparently the vacuum fell down, went boom and decided not to get up again. Time to buy a new one. Now, understand before the thing failed, I was able to vacuum the carpet under the kitchen table. Okay, so fast forward to later yesterday...I had gone to Target and purchased the vacuum shown. Around 4 or 5 I pulled it out of its box, plugged it in and tried the damn thing out - on the kitchen carpet. Can I just tell you how disgusting it was to see what my old vacuum had missed!? There was a grapefruit sized ball of crap in the canister (its bagless)! I then, of course, had to re-vacuum the rest of the house.

In other news, I dreamt of Jimmy Carter last night. I know this was because I had met someone named Carter yesterday (more about him tomorrow) but now I'm waiting for an item in the news about our former president. I'm psychic you know. Oh, and HH was in the dream too - okay, I guess it was a nightmare.

I also didn't mention the student at my school who passed away this past weekend. So sad...apparently he drowned at Lake Cumberland. This is, I think, the second drowning in three years and 3rd death of a student in 3 years. Sucks.

So today, I'll be heading to Home Depot to try and get some herbs to plant. I'm constantly buying herbs from the grocery and they're expensive. Mom and Maggie convinced me how easy they are to grow and how nice it is to just walk outside and pick them. I'm going to try and get some basil, rosemary, thyme and chives. We'll see.

I guess that's it...Jim will be tiling tonight - the shower at least. Can't wait. I'll take a picture. He primed the walls yesterday so they are no longer that ugly green color...it's shaping up.

K - need more coffee...later.
