I Be Illin'

So, yesterday, at work, I steadily started going downhill - healthwise. I didn't know at the time if it was allergies or what. I'm now convinced it was allergies but at the same time, I started getting a monster headache that left my eyes crossed and my mind foggy. Regardless, I called in sick last night. Then, while I slept, my stomach started in with some interesting pains that I haven't experienced since I was a kid. I can't even explain it but we used to take paregoric to help remedy the symptoms. Interestingly, paregoric is an opium based medicine known to be used to "calm fretful children". Principle ingredient: Morphine. Can you imagine giving that to kids now? Dang! Sort of wish I had some.

Anyway - I just checked my email and found that of course, they had no sub for me! Figures. Oh well, I can't worry about that. I am still feeling a bit foggy and my stomach is still in limbo but I don't feel like I'll need to be sick tomorrow. I certainly don't feel like I have what Diane had a couple weeks ago.

Well, that's all I've got right now. I'm going to go lay on the couch and watch Top Chef (which started last night and I taped). Happy Thursday all!

Now I know I loved paregoric. It works like a charm even though the taste could be improved upon.

Me and my sisters took paragoric when we were kids too! I think they should still give it out. We missed you today!
