Later, as I was walking Scout, she responded. Of course she apologized and told me that it was Nick who is the real problem. He apparently lets the dogs out and then doesn't pay attention when they've been out too long and start to wander. She is then the one who hears all the complaints and he thinks everything is hunky dorie. She then gave me his number and told me to "give him hell!" I do plan on texting him but need to word it in a way that isn't totally confrontational but still stern.
There are a couple issues at play here. I understand that Lily (the shepherd that keeps getting loose) is nice but Boo isn't. If she comes up to us Boo's going to lose his mind and if there's a fight, Boo's going to lose...his life. The other issue is that up the street there's a neighbor who got 2 years in prison for killing, shooting, another neighbor's dog who got loose. He's served his time and is back. Who's to say that he doesn't do the same thing again when Lily comes by...and maybe this time he claims "self-defense"? There are many other issues I haven't mentioned (the dog gets hit, stolen, etc.) but the main one is, Why the hell does this keep happening!? Why are you such a douche!? I can't tell you how nerve-wracking it is for me to walk Boo. Ugh!
Here's something weird: Last night I had a dream about Akira, Maggie's best friend from Mercy. I don't really remember the dream, just that she was in town and getting treatment for breast cancer (she's been dealing with issues in her real life of late). My point is, when I got up this morning and was drinking my coffee, the first posting on Facebook was from Akira. She hardly ever posts. I think that's weird.
Jim and I have plans today (or tomorrow?) to go out with Doug and Lauren. I'd made these plans last week and forgot. Oops. We'll go out to dinner (not sure where yet) and then probably come back and play cards. They both took the week off from work. If we don't go out to dinner tonight I'll make a chicken dish for dinner. Maybe apricot chicken in the instant pot. I haven't made that in a while.
Jim and I also need to get to Lehr's to purchase our filets for New Year's Eve dinner. Maybe we'll wait until tomorrow to do that. We'll see how Jim feels.
Not much else is happening. I'm going to try and walk the boys before I get on the elliptical and try to beat the rain. Which means I should get going. Happy Thursday! Later!
