Overnight Storms

More like late night storms as they hit around 10:30. I was fast asleep when something - I'm not sure what - woke me up. I may have heard some distant sirens but the one near our house didn't go off until after I was awake. We did have tornado warnings but the worst of the storms skipped our neighborhood. It was REALLY windy, however, and when we finally went back upstairs to go back to bed, the wind was freaking me out a little bit. Ugh! At least that's over and we're all good here. There is a bit of cleanup in the yard to deal with (sticks etc.) but nothing Jimmy can't handle.

As for me my day will involve a couple of meetings and trying to finish that stupid scholarship IEP I have next week. The home school provider has been telling me for a few days that she'll get me info but I have yet to get anything from her. Annoying. She told me Tuesday she's have progress reported to me and suggestions for goals by yesterday. Guess what? Nothing. Why can't people follow through?!

Can I just say the bread I made yesterday was AMAZING! Best bread ever! And the only "sugar" in it is a tablespoon of honey! Only 6 ingredients and no kneading! And the loaf is HUGE so I cut it in half and froze the other half. Jim wanted it for dessert yesterday but I wouldn't let him. This will be my new go-to bread...perfect for sandwiches or a slice with my morning concoction or made into a piece of garlic bread to go with and Italian dish...YUMMY! Here's the link in case you're interested.

By the way - yesterday was an amazingly beautiful day! I managed to have all my meetings and still get a walk in and a bike ride. The boys ran around all day like kooks...they are so happy it's Spring and nice out. I took a lovely bath and read my books. In the bath I'm reading Becoming by Michelle Obama and my other book is Educated by Tara Westover...both are really good. Reading Becoming makes me so nostalgic for a time when we had a calming force in the White House who soothed rather than stirred up angst. Depressing.

Okay well, I have a 10:00 meeting with my seniors today and then a 10:30 meeting with a kid who was supposed to show up for my read aloud yesterday but didn't. I'm going to walk Scout before all that starts so that when I'm done, around 11:00 I can elliptical and then my day is pretty much done.

Happy Thursday! No school tomorrow! I'll still blog though so that's something to look forward to, huh? K - I'm out...stay healthy! Later!
