Hot Flashes

Maggie sent me this...HAHA!
Man! I had about 4 or 5 hot flashes last night and it SUCKED! It seems like every time I switched positions it would throw me into a hot flash which would last about 5 minutes. As you can imagine, I didn't sleep so well. Annoying! I have some Black Cohosh which is supposed to help so I think tonight I may have to take some.

The weekend was good. Friday Jim and I got take out (Red Robin) and it was delicious. They delivered which was nice and convenient. Saturday we hung around here - obviously - although we did make a run down to Little Miami Brewery to fill up a few growlers. Of course I left my credit card there...thank God my friend Joe was working...he sent me a text letting me know and Jim ran back down to get it. Stupid Muwee! I also did some work Saturday to prepare for this week (got my assignments ready for posting and completed my scholarship IEP). Saturday night we sat at home and played euchre and hearts with Doug and Lauren (who were in their home) through the apps we downloaded...it's nice to be able to do some of our usual things through all this.

Sunday - Easter - was relaxed. I made a lovely breakfast casserole and then made a ham, au gratin potato dish and roasted some asparagus for dinner. Jim passed out early (he may have had a bit too much to drink yesterday) so I stayed up and watched some Ozark and then read my book.

This week will be interesting. I feel like things are going to start ramping up at school with kids starting to slack off and not doing their work. I'm already getting emails from the usual complaining parents about kids being overwhelmed and certain classes causing them problems. Computer issues are also giving some kids/parents fits. The problem is that these kids and their parents are all trying to work from home and they don't have enough devices. Or their devices are ancient and slower than molasses. And then they of course email and think I have some way to fix it for them. And then there are the teachers (really just one) who is assigning WAY too much shit! Kids are supposed to get 2-3 assignments per class for the week. I had a teacher email about 4 kids (all of my sophomores in her class) who haven't completed their assignments. She gave them 24 topics to do for math! That's f&%king crazy! I would imagine there will be some major complaints from parents soon. Needless to say, I'm already being asked to help one of my kids for math. So yeah, my week might be packed full of crap...or not.

I do have an IEP meeting tomorrow at 10:00...hopefully that will go okay. It's for the scholarship kid and I've never done an IEP like this. See, students on a "scholarship" are special ed kids that are living in the district but don't go to school at Kings. They are either in a special school or home-schooled and through the scholarship, they get district money to help pay for whatever they're doing. Because they are in special ed, they have to have an IEP written annually as any other kid. However, the IEP isn't really followed through whatever program they're in...you write it as though they were in the public school. So it's stupid...and a waste of time but whatever...that's the case with most shit in special ed.

Okay well, I need to do a few school related things then I'll do the elliptical and then more school work and then lunch and hopefully by then the rain will have moved out and I can walk Scout. BTW - Boo gets walked every day just like Scout but Jim walks Boo which is why I never talk about walking him...I get Scout...Jim gets Boo.

Oh, dinner tonight - I'm going to make a nice ham and bean soup...probably in the instant pot. Yummy. I'll also make more bread today and I need to make some broth and I'll probably make some biscotti.

And that's all I've got. Happy Monday! Stay healthy! Later!
