Picky Eater?

All of a sudden Scout is being a pain in the ass when it comes to eating. He did this a couple months ago and it was annoying. Here's my usual routine: I get up in the morning and let the boys out. While they do #1, I brew my coffee and start getting my breakfast prep going. They come in, jump around like circus dog fools, I hurry up to get food in their bowls, separate them between the counter, drop the bowls (after they sit like proper little boys) and then eating commences. Lately, Scout comes in from doing his business and walks away...either into the family room or upstairs. I'm forced to feed Boo because he's not pooh poohing his vittles although I do put Scout's bowl on the ground but it's a crap shoot if he'll eat anything. He'll come in, sniff his bowl, eat a bite and walk away. Usually he'll do that 3-4 times before I finally give up because I need to go get ready. And mind you, he's wagging his tail the whole time. This morning was a bit different because at one point he came up to me and stretched up for a hug so I squatted down and loved on him. After doing that, he wanted his food again so I thought, "Okay...he just wants a cuddle before sustenance." Nope, he took two bites and wanted outside. So I thought, "Okay, he had to go #2." But then he came in and didn't want his food. Why must that boy be so difficult!?

I'm starting to feel a bit stressed with the upcoming holiday. Part of the problem is that I have school right up until Friday which leaves me very little time to do the things I need done. I was all excited yesterday that Jim's on 2nd shift because that gives me an "extra pair of hands" to help with the shopping and cleaning and last minute "buys". But then yesterday happened. I had given Jim TWO - 2!!! - jobs and guess what?! Yup, he didn't do either of the things I asked him to do. Which means the things that I needed him to do today won't get done. I'll probably do a bit of my X-mas Eve shopping today after school and maybe make my sauce for the lasagna...get that out of the way but we'll see. It's just a lot without having a solid few days to prepare. Oh well, this too shall pass and at least we're not in the place we were last year.  I'll just grin, bear it and buckle down.

I have an IEP today that may be a pain in the ass. The parent (as I think I've said before) demands a LOT for her kid who doesn't really need it. I only have one goal for her this year based on her needs and I have a feeling that her mother is going to pitch a fit. Why do parents think that just because there isn't a goal for something they won't get help? She may not have a writing goal but do you think I'm not going to help her edit and tweak a paper if she brings it to me? No...of course not. Settle down lady! Let your baby bird flap her wings a little and stop hovering! When have I ever left her high and dry in the three years I've had her?

One good thing: I got all but one present wrapped last night! I didn't wrap that one because Jim didn't do his jobs. Always remember, if something doesn't get done, it must be Jim's fault.

Okay well, I need to get to work to get to my stupid IEP meeting. Happy Tuesday. Later!
