What Is Going ON!?!?

Watching the news this morning and seeing that Anthony Bourdain has died of suicide...it's just heartbreaking! First Kate Spade and then him with suicide on the rise...UGH! I don't want to say the typical mantra about people struggling: Get help, there's another way and another answer because obviously it isn't that simple. I mean, a person who leaves behind an 11 or 13 year old is obviously not in their right mind and thinking logically. They most assuredly don't believe there's a way out of such a vast abyss. Who in their right mind would do such a thing to themselves if they're able to think about those left behind? I don't believe a person suffering in such a way makes the "choice" to commit suicide...they truly feel there isn't a choice and this is the only way out. So sad.

So Boo...ugh! The worst part of Boo fracturing his knee is that he doesn't really realize he's hurt. Of course he's been "resting" since coming home yesterday (as best I can make him rest) and so he's not limping which means he's not hurting and he feels like he should be running around chasing and getting chased by his brother. It's frustrating for me, for him, for Scout. And now that all the sedation meds have worn off, he's feeling quite frisky. I've had them out most of the morning so far but just had to put Boo in the cage because he was starting to get all hopped up with playfulness. Can't have that. I know that this is for the best and doing this now will help him heal back to his normal self but it SUCKS!

One thing I've found so far in all of this is that Scout is the better listener. He comes when called better as well. When Boo is getting all crazy and I need them to stop, I call Scout to me and he'll come, nearly right away. And usually he'll stick with me if I tell him to. Can't wait for the next two weeks to go by quickly!

So it's Friday which means the weekend. Jim's going to work tomorrow so it will be a pretty low key couple of days. This evening Lauren and I are going to March 1st - a local small brewery - to meet up with Doug after he gets off work. I don't expect to be out long and I want to come home to make dinner...we'll see how that goes. Jim will need to get to bed early so I certainly don't want it to be a late night. Other than that, I'll just be getting ready for PIB on Monday. Still haven't made all my lists.

And that's all I've got. Time to walk Scout and get him a little worn out. Happy weekend! Later!
