In reality, I don't know if it's Boo's leg or foot that's bothering him...he just occasionally won't use his back, left leg (usually after he gets up from sleeping). Anyway, I took him to the vet yesterday where the doc manipulated all four of his legs and feet to see how his range of motion was. He never cried or whined while she did this and though he didn't exactly enjoy it, he let her do it without squirming or trying to get away. There wasn't anything she could feel and so I'll take him back today at 9:00 to have an X-ray. He's on a sedative and anti-inflammatory. Hopefully he's doped up enough to allow the X-ray. Otherwise, I'll have to make the decision to have them put him out or not to get the scan. The issue is that it's the same leg that bothered him in March and so they want to make sure it's not a juvenile bone disease. Poor boy.
Of course Scout does not like that Boo is dopey and not real hip to play. He keeps going up to him to sniff and then gets on the floor and rolls over and barks...trying to entice Boo to "attack". He's not getting any reaction, however. Hopefully when we get back from the vet, the meds will wear off quickly.
So I can't remember how long it's been since I've been a smoker (10 years at least though) but I still have dreams that I pick it up again. Last night I had that dream. It's always the same too...I start by "bumming" smokes off others and justify it saying, "I'm not a smoker because I haven't bought any packs myself." And then it gets to the point where I have to buy a pack and I think, "Great! Now I have to quit again!" I'm always happy when I wake up and realize it's a dream! So glad I quit!
Jim's back with his original "boss" at work. Since going back in...April (?), he's been with a different crew but with the latest need for taking off here and there due to meds, they switched him back. No big deal. He's now in Covington, at headquarters staining doors. And he's working with a guy he really likes so that's good. He will take his meds today and the be off again tomorrow. Fingers crossed this works! Oh, and he'll work Saturday too...which is good because he had to go home early Monday so maybe he'll even get a couple hours overtime!
Other than the vet today, I'll also do a grocery shop and then because it's beautiful again today, I just may lay out.
And that's all I've got. I hope to get back on the bike tomorrow! I haven't been able to with everything going on lately but tomorrow should be a nothing day! Happy Thursday! This time next week, it'll be our last day at PIB! Later!
