So I took the dogs on a walk this morning. I take them separately because they walk so much better alone. First I took Boo (just a short one since he's still healing, although he hasn't limped but once since I've returned from PIB...knock on wood) while Scout was in his cage with a nice bone filled with peanut butter. I did the old switcheroo and took Scout on a two miler. He was so funny. He always looks like he's been on a marathon within a block of leaving the house - tongue flopping all over the place and scraggly. It doesn't help his look when he tromps through puddles (to cool down). Today, he found a nice rain-soaked trench and proceeded to lie down, roll over and soak himself. I'm sure it felt sublime to him but he looked like a homeless dog that I picked up off the streets.
Anyway - we were almost home and I see up ahead of us, a bunny, sitting right in our path...and he isn't moving and I know what's coming. As we get within about 6 feet of him, the bunny finally gets terrified enough to hop away which, of course, sends Scout into one of his excited, screaming fits. Seriously, you've never heard anything like it. It sounds like he's being tortured and killed. When I finally get him to shut the hell up, I realize that ALL the dogs in the neighborhood are howling. I mean, it sounded like doggy Armageddon. All I could do was laugh and silently apologize to my neighbors.
So Jim had his appointment yesterday and all went well. He's going to stay on the same dosage (lowest, one day on, one day off) until his next appointment on August 14th (assuming everything continues to go well). He will have a scan prior to his next appointment to see how things are going. Fingers crossed!
So today? Not sure what I have in the works. Jim's been having to go in to do some touch up stuff after his regular shift so I haven't been able to cook these past couple days. Not sure if this will happen again today or not. I'll do some cleaning and then I might just start cutting up some fabric for a new quilt. It's been a while since I've made one. I need to make another jeans quilt because I have a stack I need to get rid of. I'll look for a pattern that is easy but pretty and hopefully get that under way.
And that's all I've got. Guess I'll do some cleaning...make myself useful. Happy Wednesday. Later!
